apparently he has some animosity toward the Cowboys for drafting him late in the draft costing him money. even though i think 26-28M AAV would be a fair deal (5 years 130 to 140M with 110M guaranteed) I now expect that nothing short of 32 to 35M AAV (5 years 160 to 175M) will get him signed. and it bothers me about the possible effects that will come with paying him that much.

Where did you come up with this from? Because I have NEVER heard this perspective before.

Dak Prescott

30-32 mil. is what this site figures as well.
says $29,446,526 Avg. 5 yrs $147,232,630

after figuring in Wentz & Wilsons deal
a 7 yr would be $219,785,342 for an avg. $31,397,906

So it is right in the 30-32 range.

Yeah, I could see having animosity toward the OTHER 31 teams that passed on you, but not the one that liked you the most

I just don’t get the need to make shit up simply because you don’t like the fact that the kid is about to get the going rate for a starting QB in the NFL.

It’s just business.

Dallas Cowboys: Did the Carson Wentz contract help or hurt?

A lot of good interesting points on Dak vs. Wentz but I think they missed printed on how much he should get.
It says he deserves more than Wentz but then says 5 years for 130 which will never happen.
maybe they meant 150 or 160
I didn't see that in the article you linked. But, I saw it elsewhere and what they meant by 5-$130M was giving him the same deal Wentz got which is 4-$132M. Since his contract this year is $2M, they are saying over the next 5 years he gets 5-$130M. I think it's reasonable. The new money is $32M per year just like Wentz. They can tack on a "cuttable" year at $35M per if they want and I think they will to make it appear more. This makes it 5-$163 ($32.6M per) in new money or 6-$165 ($27.5M) if you include this year.

Mechanics matters...

Key there being when he is set up right. Too many times in the last couple of years he wasn't and oftentimes bad throws were the result. This is what Kitna has to change. I think Moore will hopefully be a good OC, but he was just not up to the job of QB coach. Kitna seems to be the guy that will correct Dak and help him. I agree it's not like there are tons of things to fix here and I think it is more mechanical and I think Kitna has said more about what needs to be done than we have heard from a QB coach here probably ever and it's only June. Kitna will hopefully go down as a huge signing and hopefully if he is we can keep him around for a long time.

Cooper Rush picked off by Donovan Wilson in mini camp yesterday. Cowboys need to do something about backup qb. A quality DB will bait Rush into an interception. I think Wilson can be our starting SS

I never liked Moore as a coach or OC, hopefully I'm wrong on my OC thoughts. I liked the Kitna hiring because he was a good NFL QB without talent in his back pocket. He had to know how to QB and I think he will instill that knowledge into Dak.

Most teams are screwed if they go to their BU QB and Dak looks to be pretty sturdy. Were not even sure if its Rush or White as the BU.

BU QB is way down on my give a shit meter.

I was leery about the Kitna hiring when I first heard it, but didn't really have an opinion until I started reading what he was saying. He spoke about specifics and technique and all of the things we all know Dak needs help with. Dak doesn't need someone to pat him on the ass, he needs someone to gets his footwork better and help him go through his progressions quicker and stay quiet in the pocket even with chaos all around him.

As far as Moore goes, I'm realizing I'm pretty much looking at it the same as I did with Kitna. I hated it at first based only on my assumptions. Once I started to hear what he was doing and changing I started to come around to him and then as I heard more and more I started to actually like the move.

Very optimistic about the coaching changes from this team the last couple of years. Also key was going with Columbo last year and getting rid of Alexander instead of waiting. The techniques he was teaching just didn't work here. Hopefully a full offseason with Columbo in charge will show more improvement. Collins sure seemed better with him.

I’m way more concerned about stability on the offensive line and improved play in the secondary... and continued improvement by Dak.

I cant read it :(
It was basically a small camp skirmish after Heath stopped Dak at the LOS in the Red Zone.

Here's a copy and paste from the story.

Prescott and the Cowboys offense were in the red zone during one of
the sessions when the quarterback ran a zone read around left end.
Heath was there to stop the play and take him out of bounds.

Prescott shoved Heath at the end of the play. Heath shoved him back.
Players from both sides of the ball gathered around the two before the
episode quickly subsided.
