Sony Michel was not dressed or on the field. He will always have the bone to bone problem in his knee and the doctors and BB have decided not to push him unnecessarily. He's been a daily regular in the weight room and dealing with thyemedical staff. There are rumors that he's had some injections of a maniscus like material to coat the bone surface and reduce the friction. No one can verify if he's done it or if it is working.

The injections are likely a synthetic lubricant. One is called Synvisc and the other is a product called Hyalgan. The synvisc is typically 3 shots in 3 weeks although they have developed Synvisc-One which only requires one injection and either will give him a lot of relief from the arthritic pain for upwards of 6 months.

The Hyalgan is a 5 shots in 5 weeks product and similarly offers 6 months or more of pain relief.

I have been treated with both and they work wonders. I start another round of Hyalgan shots at the VA in August and I can tell you that these synthetic synovial fluid supplements are the only thing standing between me and a full knee replacement.

I have arthritis in my right knee. I plan to die before I get knee replacement. I was recommended not to try the fluid shots. I don't know why. I'll have to ask more questions when I next see my doctor.

I have no idea why an ortho would advise against getting the synthetic lubricant shots. If your insurance will cover the cost with a reasonable co-pay there is little down side.

Speaking of down side. I did have a negative reaction to the synvisc lube ( a not uncommon side effect) the third time it was administered and it was pretty ugly for a few days, however the hyalgan has never let me down.

My recommendation is to find out if your insurance covers one or both and give it a try.

Maybe he doesn't know how to do it? Some docs don't like carrying an inventory of any meds in their office.
A friend of my wife's goes to a pain specialist and he doesn't even have a bottle of aspirin in his office. Druggies will break in and destroy the place looking for them. His office was wrecked twice so he had professional signs made that say there are no drugs on site. It says the same on his nameplate in the lobby of the building.

I don't know about your particular issue, but if it is arthritis or bone on bone related I can't recommend the stuff highly enough.

Not to get up on a soap box but arthritis is a form of inflammation and any inflammation you can reduce would help alleviate the symptoms of arthritis. Some guy most of us are familiar with (Tim Brady, Tom Brody, or something like that) has some books on the topic including one about a diet that reduces inflammation.

They don't always work is one reason for some reason they did not work for me and my Dr said it works in 90% of patients. But then again for some reason when at the dentist they have to load needles of Novcaine for me because it wears of so quickly. The gel just did not work for me all.

Inflammation? I think it's more bone on bone because the tissue is work out.

I'm a pain junkie......had a root canal without novacaine. Had my new heart valve installed awake and watching on the surgical monitor. Don't ask me why,for some reason I can tolerate extreme pain.

A guy I know has the same issue with novacainethat you have. He had to be injected three times for post to be put into a broken tooth. I sympathize with anyone who's body rejects anestetics.

As long as the Docs know well ahead of time they can adjust for the pain. With the dentist they just look for me to twitch and ask about my pain level. Point is they are prepped with loaded needles ahead of time.

As for your situation bump that man I don't want to see that stuff for sure and darn sure want to be numb as hell if possible

Your comment do not specify any one persons knee it spoke in general.

Southy says "I have arthritus.....", to which I reply "Not to get up on a soap box...." That kinda seems like my comment does apply to a specific knee. Add to it both Southie and I referenced arthritis and not bone on bone.

I quoted the one post, not the entire thread. If that quote put a knot in your diaper to the degree you felt the need to make a deal of it, then hell I just don't know what else to say.

I quoted another post and responded to it. You were too lazy to read the two together. It happens. I expect a simple "oops" and no more.

I'd type slower if I thought it would help you comprehend but I think that's a futile effort.

What don't you get? You are the one who is off and are not comprehending because your goddamn ego won't let you. You say if I respond to you my diapers are in a twist, yet here you are responding to me.

Actually I said you got a knot in your diaper which further emphasizes my point, than there is some level of comprehension you are lacking. Not sure what you can't grasp here.

I responded to a singular post specifically in reference to arthritis and inflammation vs bone on bone and you are the one that tried to take it elsewhere. Again (1) post, specific subject matter and you wanted to make personal about your knee because you responded to another poster in another post. LMAO really dude, keep up or shut up, you just look dumber and dumber with each response.
