What about Zyon McCollum? Anyone know anything about him. I thought he was a top rated CB back around February. Is he broken or something?

Zyon McCollum was a standout for Sam Houston State and is fully on the NFL’s radar with an invitation to the Senior Bowl. He brings good size, speed, and terrific ball skills to the table. When it comes to his ability to make plays on the football, the numbers speak for themselves. He collected 13 interceptions and 54 pass breakups in 56 games in college. He is disruptive at the catch point due to his natural ball skills, athleticism, and ability to stay leveraged. For a tall corner, I am impressed with his ability to turn and run and he is a willing contributor in run support. When it comes to concerns, McCollum has matchup restrictions in man coverage and shouldn’t be tasked with regular reps on off-man coverage. He has to become a more consistent tackler—as things stand, he has a tendency to aim high and fall off too many attempts. I also believe he has room to grow when it comes to route-anticipation skills in addition to proving himself against top competition. McCollum should be an attractive developmental target for zone-heavy defenses.

Patriots selected CB Jack Jones with the No. 121 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Jones (5’11/171) spent two years at USC before a trip to junior college and transferring to Arizona State. He left USC after he was ruled academically ineligible and was arrested and convicted on second-degree misdemeanor commercial burglary charges. His off-the-field issues came back once again in 2020. He played in only one game due to being suspended for violation of team rules. He returned in 2021 with his best year. He recorded a PFF grade of 79.4 with three interceptions and five passes defended. His calling card will be thriving in underneath coverage along with being a ball hawk. He does have limitations, as he has a very thin frame and lacks great athleticism with a 6.72 Relative Athletic Score. His talent says he is worth a day three selection but the off-field issues likely have him off some teams' boards. Not the Patriots' board, however.

"Man Coverage Skills: Jones is an excellent man-cover player as he possesses the necessary athleticism to stay sticky in coverage. He has excellent foot quickness and fluidity and can change directions and mirror route patterns with ease. He stays connected through the route and is explosive in short areas to close and break on the ball. His lack of size, length, and strength does show up when he is challenged at the line of scrimmage and at the catch point.

Off field issues are sink or swim for him. He will be on a zero tolerance list and veterans will try to turn his head around straight.
He has return skills but we have Marcus Jones.
Will we teach him the techniques he is lacking? Worth a gamble.....

Patriots selected South Dakota State RB Pierre Strong with the No. 127 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Strong (5'11/207) had an extremely productive four-year career at South Dakota State. He totaled 4,527 rushing yards and 40 touchdowns in 48 career games and was highly efficient with a 7.2 career yards per carry average. Strong was also a capable receiver with 581 receiving yards, three touchdowns, and 0.92 yards per route run. Strong had elite breakaway rushing production, but it's unclear if that will translate from the FCS to the NFL. After Strong blazed a 4.37 40 at the Combine, it seems more likely that he can deliver big plays against tougher competition. Strong projects as a classic one-cut-and-go runner. He'll have a long way to go to achieve fantasy relevance in the crowded New England backfield.

Bailey Zappe????? I'm not sold on this pick. Had good production from poor talent?

Patriots selected Western Kentucky QB Bailey Zappe with the No. 137 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Zappe (6’1/220) is still a highly underrated quarterback despite breaking two FBS records – one for single-season passing yards (5,967) and another for single-season passing touchdowns (62). He finished the year with a 69.2% completion rate on 686 passes. Zappe struggled the first day of the Senior Bowl but quickly acclimated and performed at a high level in Mobile, making throws at all levels of the field and casting some doubt on the “lower-level competition” narrative. Known for one of the most impressive deep balls in the nation, Zappe might be able to outperform expectations. He'll be a developmental project behind 2021 first-rounder Mac Jones. Zappe's arrival should be the final nail in Jarrett Stidham's coffin.

437 speed! Never schemed into passing attack. Should be interesting to see how he takes to it.
He is a RB1 talent with room to grow into the position. He will probably ride the bench this year but he has a future.
wheres my dline guy RB really wasnt a need and now a QB wtf
