A crazy scenario is if the Pelicans get the #1 pick. Not only would they get a potential future star in Zion but they get a nice return on a trade for AD.
If they jumped up to #2 and the Knicks got the #1, they could possibly have the #1 and #2 pick on the same team. Knicks trade Zion to the Pelicans. The Pelicans draft Morant or Barrett.
If they land Zion they would have a pretty good shot at convincing AD to stay

If I had to guess the Knicks ,Bulls or Lakers. Leaning toward Lakers as the NBA may want lebron to make one last run.

being a knicks fan i obviously want the knicks to land the number one pick. but I personally wouldnt be surprised if the Lakers land the number one pick. If Zion and James would be a great duo for the new coach to come into with. and lets all admit something..... the NBA is fixed

I would really love it if the first pick falls with the Pelicans... It will be very interesting to see what they'll ask back to move AD if they get it!

Second that would please me would be the Hawks... It would be very interesting to see how they spend their huge cap space this off season if they can draft Zion next to Trae Young from last season...

Lakers are trying to get him and just looking at the numbers - I think the Lakers would have to give them Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram and first round draft pick they have this year and future draft picks minimum. They really need to keep Kyle Kuzma , but I was the Pelicans - I would want Kuzma, Ball and Ingram and this years first round pick and the Lakers would have enough to sign Irving or Leonard, but not both. Trading for Davis after the free agency would be smarter for the Lakers.

I know the draft is tonight, but don't forget to vote in the DBOY contest on main board. Handi needs your vote, I'm losing right now.

I have a semi-crazy proclamation:

IMO, tonight is the biggest single night in the NBA since KD signed in Golden state.

Why?

Not just because of Zion. His elite prospect status is part of it for sure.

But, the draft lottery is really the first step to the off season. This off season figures to be super exciting, because in addition to adding a couple highly dynamic rookies, the 2020 champion will not be widely known by everyone before the season starts (yes, I realize GS could still lose this year, but they are extremely heavy favorites).

Depending on how the off season shapes up, there could be as many as 7 or 8 teams with a legit shot at a title next year. The anticipation of the unknown future is more exciting to many than the most likely outcome of watching the Warriors win their 3rd straight.

You aren't getting AD mate... he doesn't want to play for you...

I never said the Lakers were - I merely said the Lakers were trying to get him. There is a difference.
