In the spirit of the above conversation I'm just gonna post this pic and allow anarchy to happen.

It's a gutsy move choosing LA over Buffalo from a hockey talent perspective.
Job security for a rebuild and he doesn't have to live in another hellscape. I can't blame him.

There's also a chance he interviewed with Buffalo and didn't see his views lining up with Botterill's.

But man, LA's roster needs some serious work. Blake will get a lot of praise if he can somehow polish this team up in a year or two.

Before any of the playoffs start Good Luck.

Cheers! Good luck. Not expecting a lot this year, but always hopeful. :thumb:

I think the Stanley Cup finalist from the East is likely coming from the Atlantic.

Well this is certainly the last time I am nice to a Capitals fan right before the playoffs start.:L

Now I just hope that Carolina makes a come back and gets all the way to the ECF before losing to Columbus.

See the Avalanche knock off Columbus for the Cup.

Thruthfully I think I will just sit back and enjoy this years playoffs from here on out without caring who wins.

I'm not going to argue that Buffalo is some glorious oasis (I moved away after all), but fuck LA.

(Not specific to hockey) I'd go to OC, I'd go to the Bay Area, I'd even go to *shudder* Sacramento, but I sure as fuck would never move to LA.

As for hockey reasons, I don't blame anyone for staying away from the tire fire in Buffalo.

I've never been to LA but to be fair after the winters we've been having the last few years I'd probably call Toronto a hellscape during hockey season at this point.

LA is a great place to visit, even for an extended period of time, but it's a fucking miserable place to live. Crowded, polluted, takes fucking forever to get anywhere, former meth houses with dead bodies still inside cost a mil +, and you are always potentially seconds away from an Earthquake or riot.

I mean, minus the earthquake it sounds like Toronto.

Id choose LA over many NHL cities in a heartbeat. All the players seem to live in Hermosa/Manhatten beach areas. I certainly wouldnt have a problem living there lol. Traffic is probably the worst part. Sure , when mega tsunami comes after the BIG one youd be in trouble but thats why you take up surfing. Oh and btw, every time i visit my bro down there, we go to the mexican restaurant that Drew Doughty frequents and i now understand why hes fat

Slightly off topic. My brother in Kamloops swears I sound "Southern". I have no idea what he is talking about. But I do say y'all on a regular basis. And the locals mock me for saying "hoose" and "aboot".

/man without a country
I’m with ya, Brother. Though born in MI and raised in Pittsburgh, most of my duty stations have been in the South. When in the South, they get on me for my “Yankee” accent. But when back home in Pittsburgh, they get on me for my southern accent.
