Nothing to do with D Law. They do need another pass rusher with Gregory out, Irving gone and Taco playing like an actual taco. But if Lawrence wants $23M plus he's probably going to be gone via trade regardless of Quinn deal. Quinn seems just a supplemental guy at this point and better with a top guy across the line from him I'd guess as compared to getting more of the attention himself

They probably go pass rusher in the draft if they don't sign DLaw I would assume

Browns Waiving S Derrick Kindred | NFLTradeRumors.co

Hmmm interesting. He was projected to be the starting SS and they don't have anyone else. I guess this means they are signing a safety and they free up about 2M, most likely to go to a replacement. Interesting.
Hoping it's strictly talent related and not just dumping a guy he didn't draft. Curious timing. Makes no money for the most part, and has been a solid player at times. As of now our best SS on the roster (or was) and a decent backup.

wonder if something off-the-field happened.

Yeah I would have thought they would keep him for depth, in case an injury occurs. The move doesn't make sense right now but I trust Dorsey lol. Thinking they draft a SS and then also sign a safety in FA.

OK to trust Dorsey overall but question a move he makes as I do here (and seems you might, as well).

Yeah I mean he is human, he can't get everything right. I have my questions about this move but we will see how it plays out.

As I said, Just the timing for me. If Kindred and/or Louis are beat out in camp and you need a roster spot? Sure...dump them. In the end, not a big issue.

Eric Murray is just a guy so I'm a huge fan of this move.
Murray actually graded out quite a bit better last year than Ogbah per PFF. From what I'd been reading, Murray has been on the rise. Also seems to be a pretty valuable ST player.

What was his PFF trade? I haven't heard of him but I assume he was Berry's replacement last year.

Looks like he went to Minnesota. Pretty good combine too...

Murray was total trash in 2017 but he did improve in 2018.

The reality is that the Chiefs aren't really in a position in the draft to pick up a pass rusher that can come in right away and play so Ogbah provides some important redundancy. Chiefs are much better off addressing S in the draft than Edge, tbh.

Regardless of whatever PFF says, the Chiefs need to stop being the worst in the league at stopping the run every year. Even someone mediocre at run defense is a huge step up for them.

Looks like they had inverse seasons. Ogbah was fairly decent in 2017 but took a big step back last year.

Ogbah is fairly good against the run, so he should be able to help out there for you. He's just not much of a pass rusher, so you'll still need to replace the Houston/Ford production in that department.

Murray - 45 games, 11 starts, 1 INT, 88 tackles
Kindred -42 games, 17 starts, 2 INT, 144 tackles

Clearly, Dorsey just wants his guys (he drafted Murray). This was my biggest concern of his, but this is a nonissue as not like Murray/Kindred was gonna make or break this team.

He graded out last year as an above average safety, 67.5. He's just 25, so he's got room to grow. I'm still 100% sure we'll be addressing the position earlier in the draft than later.

I was actually a fan of Murray coming out of college as a CB. I think I had a 3rd round grade on him or something similar.

When he struggled in 2017 it was because he was matched up 1 on 1 against TEs. He'll be fine as long as he doesn't have to do that.

Did he ever play any CB in KC or was he strictly a safety? He was pretty solid in college, I recall. Hell of an athlete, too.

I think he played a little bit of CB in 2017 but 2018 was a bit of a circus at S for the Chiefs. Sorenson had some early struggles before finishing the season strong. I think Armani Watts was supposed to plug in eventually but got hurt. Ron Parker was probably the worst player on the Chiefs and was still seeing play time even late into the season.

Murray had every opportunity to shine last year but I dont think he has ever really been in KCs long-term plans. He could end up being solid for the Browns.
