Now you want to compare the thought process of a career backup in his mid-30s to a guy in his mid-20s? Fitz knows he is a bridge there at best. as far as he's concerned, there are 64 of these jobs.
Was just trying to show you that starting jobs no matter where are valuable in the NFL...some are making it out to be a horrible opportunity which is ridiculous. Obviously for a guy in his prime with options he may take a better team but Bridgewater doesn't have that luxury being hurt with little starting experience of late.

Right, but getting that guy is all about luck. To get YOUR QB you need to pick at the top of the draft and be able to take the guy they want.

You know.....like they did.
That doesn't always work either how many #1 picks went south? Jarmarcus Russell is one and we can go on and on...its still a crapshoot no matter where. Heck Patsies got Brady super late....

Firman, plumbers, QBs?

come on.
Do you not understand relative? Everyone wants more money except Bridgewater apparently....he's happy being a backup when he could make more if he took a shot at it.

No one wants to "fix the lines first" They want to get their QB. If he's not there, sure, then fix the line.

LeCharles once said if you want to fix the line get a QB who makes quick decisions. It was not an accident that the Browns went from having a below avg. line to maybe the best in the second half when Kitchens took over the offense.

Baker was hit 9 times the last 8 games. Bot sacked, but just hit. Next closest had 28. same O-line some said was a disaster the first half.
Teams have to weigh it all out of course if a QB that you like falls in your lap you take it but if your oline sucks most QB's especially young have a hard time adjusting they get killed. Look at Carr in Texas....that scenario happens more often then a guy getting it out fast and making his line look good.

Yeah, he's also a decade older than Bridgewater. He is almost out of time. Not exactly a fair comparison.
Still holds value especially for a QB who is still relatively young with question marks on his resume. Fitz could have easily went to a contender and deposited cheques as a backup it's not like he's being paid start money he loved the opportunity to play. I respect the dude.

Let's see you go on and on when it comes to overall #1 QBs after Russell. Think you can match the #1s who succeeded?

I'll start.....

Luck
Goff
Baker (still early but looks promising)

Go

Most also like to be happy when either choice gives them more than they will probably ever need.

True, but that's because there are more bad QBs than good. For all we know Carr would not have succeeded no matter who his line was.

Yeah, sorry, they did tank on purpose. Even told this horrible owner the plan and luckily he bought in. You think telling Haslem "things will get very bad before they get better" and "you might not want to attend games for a couple years" were not signs of tanking?

If that was the plan I'll take your word for it. You're more in tune and knowledge about the Browns everyday plans than I am.

don't want to open this can of worms, but don't sell the previous FO (Sashi, Paul D and Andrew Berry) short. without selling their plan to Haslem, things are not in place to where Dorsey jumps at the opportunity.

True. There's always a starting point.

My earliest memory of Cobb. Rookie year, week one, prime time.
