Not sure I would hate any muscle car from the 60's-70's.

Me either. I think some of them were ugly (early-gen Barracuda for example) and some had shoddy engineering, but they're still an American muscle car.

I do think some American cars back then are grossly overrated. I've never understood the Nomad bandwagon for example. It's a Bel Air station wagon for gawd's sake! :gaah:

^ very true and the Nomad wagon was the same but with 2 doors instead of 4.

Example I drove around a '74 Plymouth Satellite 4 door by all means. I thought by no means that was a muscle car but folks tried lumping that in. Also I thought it was SUPER ugly but at the time it was free so I didn't complain.

At the Route 66 show there are about a dozen Satellites every year, but older than '74.

Oh trust me the older Satellites looked good even the 2 door '74 but the 4 door '74 was ugly. Also mine was white so it even looked like a police car.

The cool thing about those days, you could order it how you wanted it.
If you wanted a '69 Mustang Coupe, you could have it with a 4 speed, 428 Cobra Jet drag Pack with heater delete, radio delete and dog dish hubcaps..

One car that I always hear my dad talk about is his old 67 Cougar. I've been thinking about finding an old project car. Might be a good one to get Pops to help me out with.

I always liked those way better than the Mustangs.

I'll take the new stuff like the new Charger, Viper, and Challenger SRT-8 versions. Even the 300C SRT-8 is very badass as is the SRT-8 Grand Cherokee. The old stuff is very wide but the new muscle cars are compact and have some really nice lines as well as very high technology engines. Did you happen to see Allen Johnson kick butt this week-end in the new NHRA Dodge Dart?? Unfreakinbelievable!!

And to be honest I wouldn't say no to any of the three but I like the new Dodge Challenger the best.

Juice that Viper is great.

Any of you guys ever been to the Route 66 Car Show every September in San Bernardino? It's the biggest classic American car show of all.

Based purely on styling, a '70 Olds 4-4-2 is very hard to beat for me.

I have a '72 Chevelle - only a Malibu 350 that I want to make into a clone SS and drop a crate 396 in it.

That right there is almost my Dream Car, except I want a Convertible. My parents had a '68 Olds 442 Convertible, man that was a sweet ride, but add in the W30 with the Ram Air Hood and she goes from sweet to bad ass. One day I will find my 1970 Olds 442 W30 Convertible.

Yes, He's starting the season off very nicely.
Did you see the first race this season?
Force ran a 3.96, that's damn near dragster speed.

Yea I did JohnRandle. Just plain badass is Mr Force. And you know when racing afficiando's get to talking about racing they always gravitate to the usuals, Petty, Earnhardt Sr., Schumacher in F-1, Andretti, Jimmy Johnson, yada, yada, yada. They all overlook John Force who has more than twice as many championships as anyone else. Sitting at 16, he could probably get another one this year.

There was a guy in High School that drove one of these.
Thought they looked pretty cool.

Olds Cutlass Rallye 350.
It was in perfect condition.
He drove like somebodys' Grandpa.
Never got on it, so we had no idea if it actually was fast.

Anybody know?

Had a friend in High School that had this car.

Had a 340 with a 3spd manual. Always felt fast as hell but I don't know to this day if it was or if it just was all the shake & rattle that it just seemed like it.

It had bondo on all 4 corners:laugh3:

I have no doubt he'll get another before he's done..

Do you ever make it to Nationals?
I get to BIR every year for the Summer Nationals. I highly recommend coming up for the Super Week here, goes Monday to Monday, and it's a blast.

Hey JohnRandle. I see you tracked me down on the Rams pages. It has been a while. No, I never did get to the Nationals. I had a death in the family this year and it just disrupted everything. I have been keeping up with NHRA though and all the series for that matter NASCAR (my boy Almirola and the 43 won a rain-shortened Coke 400), IRL, and F-1.

My boy Allen Johnson and Jegs are both trailing that pouty, child of a woman driver, Erica Enders in Pro Stock. Antron Brown is sneaking up on Doug Kalitta in Top Fuel, and Robert Hight is hanging onto Funny Car even though Hagan and Force have both had wins. DSR is still struggling in Top Fuel and Funny Car with Matt Hagan, Capps, and Beckman all faltering. The Shoe is still having difficulty with consistency and Spencer Massey is trying to overcome his immaturity from last year's debacle.

So yea, I'll be back.

This is what I mean by the new stuff JohnRandle. A 2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat Hemi. 707 supercharged HP right from the factory. Plunk down another $20,000 and send it over to Hennessey in California and he'll send it back to you with 1500 Hp.

A co-worker showed me the Hellcat and said he already put 20G down to get on the list of buyers waiting for it. Says it comes with 2 keys. Black for wife to drive halfway sane about town, and a red key for him go totally bonzai, full power.
