Ok...at best he's average.

Also means likely he is well below avg.

Think he's a top 3 PG?
Yep. His offense is so mind bogglingly legendarily uniquely spectacular that his defense only needs to be average. But keep trying to use that as a reason why Love is better than everyone thinks he is.

Please never change and ya gotta love this forum and so forth

Love has had garbage teams, though. 40 wins in the West with his last Minnesota team is far better than Klay could have done with him.

Hell, have you seen what's happened in Cleveland since he returned? Even less talent than his Minnesota teams and they are playing far better. 6-4 when he plays. 0-4 when he doesn't. One of the losses he left after playing only 6 minutes (they were winning at the time). 11-39 while he was out before the injury.

Objection...heresay.

Defensive rebounding is simply one aspect of defense - it's not the entirety of the conversation. And again, at 6'10, I would hope that Love's a great rebounder.

How's Love in terms of man-to-man or perimeter defense? Shitty.

And there's no fail in my argument. We're in agreement that both are great scorers, but I'll take Klay's 3-point shooting, and willing to listen that Love's the better interior scorer (I would hope so at 6'10).

Defense is the other half of the game. So when someone says "let's look at defense", it's let's go ahead and analyze the other half of what evaluates them as a player in whole.

So I love it when guys resort to "I love it when...." without bringing anything relevant to help them in the overall debate.

Also, as a general rule of thumb, when no one is really taking your side in the argument, and you have fans from other teams supporting Warriors fans in the argument; more than likely, you're wrong. This is one of those times.
Love is a 5 time all star and much of the vote is guys covering the teams as well as his peers. Guess they don't know either. I get Klay has gone as well.

Guys Klay's size usually are types who get to the hoop a lot and create their own shot. Klay doesn't. could he? Maybe, but if he does he's probably helped by the D focusing on Curry and Durant. Love has been able to get his points even when he was the guy the D was trying to stop.

You do realize that he signs the max extension from his rookie deal, right?

Thompson, Warriors agree to $70M extension

This will be his first big contract in the NBA when FA hits in July.
Nope....that was my mistake.

But Love did make $30 mil more last few years and is happy where he is so stands to reason he might be more willing to not go for a full max than Klay.

you get Klay has never signed a max deal, right? You might want to look up opinion and fact before continuing here.

Actually, he did. You do realize this information is all on the internet, correct?

In 2014 and coming off his rookie contract, he was eligible for a new contract starting at $15.8M with annual 7.5% increases. He signed a 4 year, $69M deal.

Derrr......Klay never signed a max contract....derrrr..

*Meanwhile, Klay hasn't had the opportunity to sign a max contract given his time in the league.*

He signed a max contract for a player with 0-6 years in the league in 2014.

Actually, even though he hasn't signed the max of the max deals I was still wrong. Thought he took less than the max after rookie deal.

Might confuse me with most here but I'll own up to any mistake.

Charles Barkley is one of the greatest rebounders of all time and even he admits that he wasn't a good defender.
And I agree he was not....but weird no one ripped him for his defense, even though he never won a title.

I think we all agree that for all his greatness he's probably not a #1 lead dog on a contending team. But that's the only thing "wrong" with him. Max player for sure.

^^^This^^^

A player doesn't have to be the lead dog in order to be worth a max deal. In their own way, a great #2 player is worth a max deal and even a great #3 can be worth a max deal.

A guy like Klay, who can be a great #2 or a great #3 and not complain when his role changes, is definitely worth a max contract.

I'm also not convinced that Klay can't be a #1 on a contending team. It might be more likely that he's not, but I'm not ruling it out when he's never been in that role.

Games like the one sushi mentioned, tell me that there is more to his game than he uses most nights. Looks to me like maybe he doesn't always use his full game because he usually doesn't need to.

Sorry, but couldn't help think of Demi Moore "strenuously objecting" in A Few Good Men.

"Is that how it goes.......I disagree"
"overruled"
"I vehemently disagree"

Only with nobody overruling, just your blathering lol.

I do and admitted my gaffe. Just saw $15-18 mil in these seasons and assumed it was less than the max. I assumed wrong.

You did, in reference to Love.
I did? I said he is a great defensive rebounder which is part of defense. Never said it made him a great overall defender.

For some reason, though, I don't see you owning up to your gaffe.
