Have hated that bridge for 50 years.
This is still better than the time a drunk dump truck driver hit the other span's webbing with his box.

I guess that’s how irrelevant Edmonton is now. Wasn’t even paying attention to how many games they’ve played and had no idea his suspension was over.
They went 1-0-1 without him. 3 points out of a possible 4 aint too shabby. Might as well get rid of him while he still has top value.

Landsberg and Colaiacovo spent 20 minutes ripping Dubas this morning for not getting defensive “depth” at the deadline and now seeing Dermott and Gardiner out for long stretches.

Duthie comes on and says “who were they going to get? Gudbranson? Del Zotto? Even as depth do any of the guys who moved Monday present a significant upgrade on what the Leafs already have? So why waste a 4th round pick?”. Both Landsberg and Colaiacovo immediately agree, forgetting the last 20 minutes of their show lol

My bigger question is why didn't they put in Sparks last night in the likely-win game and save Andersen for the emotionally-charged, loud, holy shit game tonight?

Are the dressing Holl, or will one of the promising Marlies be given a bit of a spotlight? I kind of prefer the latter.

Curious about something I heard in the last day or so. Subject is Connor Brown. More than one media type suggested (a) Connor is worried that he will be gone by next year for Cap reasons (b) presumably wants to stay and (c) it has impacted his play this year.

First I had heard of that "explanation".

The aspect that puzzles me most is the alleged Cap angle. His AAV is a hair over $2M. The "wise thinking" is making the argument that this amount is "too much" so he will have to go. Well, a replacement will be at least $800K, so moving Connor for Cap reasons only nets a little over $1M. That net savings does not seem large enough to warrant a change (on its own).

Seems to me the genius TOR media are making stuff up again.

The cap angle is negligible but to be honest the Leafs are in such a shitty position cap-wise that $1 mil will likely be pretty helpful to clearing the cap.

Much more an issue is the fact he really doesn't have a role on the team. He can maybe get 15-20 goals playing 2nd or 3rd line minutes on a decent team but he won't get that on a healthy Leaf team, even if they were forced to jettison some guys which they are pretty loathe to do anyway. There's not much use for him on the 4th line either which is where he's spent most of this season and where you don't really want to be spending $2 mil/yr.

All things equal, much as I don't rate him much anymore and maybe they wouldn't have done this but if the Leafs could've gotten Wayne Simmonds for Brown and a 4th like Nashville did with Hartman, I wish they had.

Jeremy Bracco leads the AHL in assists.

If the Leafs do lose one of Kapanen or Johnsson this summer, good to know there's still an option in the system to maybe make the team out of camp after losing Grundstrom and none of Mark Hunter's gritty gambles paid off.

Big game tonight, possibly a Stanley Cup preview (wouldn't that be something?) - Hey, it's fun to dream, right?

I dunno. Could be a fun game I guess but at this point already being down Dermott, Gardiner and Kadri I'm just hoping nobody else eats it between now and mid-April.
