We are shooting 40% and a dismal 20% from the 3-point stripe.

Lakers are 2-6 in last 8 free throw attempts. I don't think James is in any hurry to join this train wreck of a basketball team if you call it that.

The lead is back to 10 and Luke calls a time-out. I think Tyron Lue will be the HC soon.

This how bad the Lakers are playing. Statistically speaking, the Cavs have the worst defense of all time. Tonight they’ve kept the Lakers to 74 points with 7:39 left.

The Lakers need a Sean McVay type of coach. In fact, Lebron James spent the week-end hanging out with the Rams and celebrating with them in their win over the Colts. McVay has changed the culture of the Rams organization. Luke Walton has done squat. Get a coach in here that can change these players' approach to the game and expect nothing but the best.

With 4 minutes and change left, the lead is 7. Unless somebody steps up, this embarrassment of a game will go in the L column.

Boos ring down from the rafters at Staples. Cavs are up 11 with 3:43 left. Cedi Osman leads all scorers with 20 points. This team doesn't know how to win over teams that are complete garbage nor do they much care. This is the NBA's worst record team beating the Lakers by 11 in a game the Lakers have never held a lead. What a joke.

This bullshit is laughable. Ingram scored consecutive buckets at the rim to trim the lead to 7, but missed an and-1 FT. Doesn't give a rip about much. I say we package these overpaid I-could-care-less players and send them off to the Pelicans for AD and start over.

Just gonna keep repeating this. The Lakers need...TALENT. This team is Lebron James, then a huge drop off to Kyle Kuzma, then another dropoff to basically everyone else. As long as Lebron is out, this team can lose to anyone on any given night. I feel like people think because the team was respectable last year and we added Lebron James that it's suppose to be so much better. This isn't the same team as last year (which btw, everyone loved Luke then). It lost Isaiah Thomas, Julius Randle, and Brook Lopez, all of whom are very good players. It replaced them with guys such as Javele McGee, Lance Stephenson, and Michael Beasley; all "not" very good players. So when James isn't out there, you're left with a pretty sub-par team. People can cry about the coach all day but there's not much you can do with that. There's like maybe 2 coaches in the entire league that could do something with that (Pop, maybe Stevens or Spo)

Also, if y'all are dead set on getting new coaches, you shouldn't be looking to get rid of Luke but instead begging Magic/Pelinka to hire some shooting coaches. I don't even think we have any. That's not a joke. I don't believe they hired any this year and didn't retain the ones they had on staff prior to Magic/Pelinka taking over. This team's FT percentage is abysmal as are a lot of their other general shooting numbers. There's nothing a head coach can do when a guy steps up to the line and vomits on himself. That's not his job. That's on the players and the larger support staff. It's like the analytics shit I was railing on a couple of years ago (btw, they still don't invest the way they should in that). Hire some damn support coaches. It's a billion dollar franchise and the Buss kids run this like its a 2 bit mom and pop store.

I understand that, but there is no excuse in the world to lose to Cleveland and knicks at home. NONE!! You act like julius was some kind of all star and we got guys off the street in the offseason. Beasly, Mcgee, and Lance are not scrubs . You overrate what we lost last year and what we brought in this year. We are not missing the players from last year IMO. Just need better coaching. Luke's coached teams get blown out in the first quarter, lose leads at end of quarters, and cant finish games. That is Luke's coaching MO. We all can see it. You know how you identify a good coach? He keeps the team afloat when your star is out. You beat bad teams when your star is out. That is coaching

By NBA standards, they are scrubs.

When a team is struggling its always a combination of player talent and coaching experience. The Lakers are not even fun to watch. I wonder what Chick Hearn would be saying.

I know what he wouldn't be saying...he wouldn't be saying to fire Luke.

Gonna say it again. Those calling for Luke to be fired are panicking, plain and simple. He's one of the more respected young coaches out there and there isn't anyone better who's available. People want to call for his head, but no one offers any suggestions on who is better and available.

As @wildturkey said, this team with Lebron is better than last years team. But this years team without Lebron, is worse than last years team. It's really that simple and there's nothing that firing Luke is going to do to change that.

There are likely a few teams that are hoping the Lakers fire Luke so they can get him themselves.

And if the Lakers did fire him, who are they getting that's better? If you are going to fire your coach, you need to have someone better to replace him.

Back in the early Kobe/Shaq days, the Lakers fired a very good coach in Del Harris, but they replaced him with Phil.

If the Lakers fire Luke, who is their new Phil? You want Tyrone Lue? Thibs?
