The Braves have a shot in any series against a NL team.
Most of the top starting pitchers in the league play on non-playoff teams, that is a big break for the good guys.
We're top 10 in MLB in most statistical categories, we measure up on paper.
I think we have a shot against everyone but the Dodgers.

also, Fangraphs currently projects the Nats to go 91-71 after the Corbin signing

What do they project the Braves record to be? I read the whole Zips thing and didn't see a record.

you ever get the groundhog day feeling as a Pirates fan?
Always. It is pointless to even have hope.
Especially this is when Frank Coonelly states this:

Look at the Oakland A’s this year, they started the season with the lowest payroll in all of Major League Baseball this year, and they ended up winning 98 games.

Total copout to avoid improving with actually spending money.

The Phillies barely hung on to third place in the division last year. Pythag says they overachieved by doing that. And the Mets finished in 4th. Hard to overachieve when you finish 4th in the division. Ask Jacob deGrom if the Mets overachieved.

With all the Mets moves I think they have lifted their floor rather than their ceiling. I'd say their ceiling is higher than last year but still needs to be higher.

Another reliever is a must, would love more starting pitcher depth (Derek Holland?) and I still think the lineup needs a real bat.

At some point I think they need to flip a starter (Wheeler, Matz, Lugo?) for a positional player. Rosario needs to become a reliable everyday guy and they have to hope Alonso is half as good as promised.
