About as legit as the throwing velocity stats that have Cam Newton=Colt McCoy
Um OK. Why?

Using "top speed" is not really that great a metric... it's like using yards/touch for RB's. It's cool, just doesn't tell people what people take away from it.Um OK. Why?

I care much more about how fast you get to 1-100, decel, change of direction, etc. The amount of times you're reaching top speed is gonna be pretty minimal on a football field unless you're playing putzes.
3 cone, 40 times, etc still do a better job of that than top speed. That's not very helpful. Hell, it's basically the 40 time obsession, but in slightly less silly circumstances.
In that regard, the 22 some odd mph silliness isn't very helpful for determining fastest player. Cool the article talks about weight, but it doesn't make them a faster player. We're talking some serious delusion when we have people talking up guys like Fournette and Henry (a legit SLOW RB) being in the same weightclass as Hill in terms of speed...
I think you need a mirror with that one, boss.Let me try to find something more loving of Hill. If I do I'll post it to keep your salty ass happy.

Your mistake is thinking I care either... Hill is just proxy for the obvious (and he is the subject in the OP). We can talk about John Ross, Devin Hester, Randy Moss, etc if you wish.Wrong, I just posted a link about football players speed. I really don't care who is or isn't the fastest.
Herschel Walkers' speed always amazed me. Had a buddy who trained and played with him in the USFL, and they'd work out in cocoa beach. Said he was the fastest guy on his college team. Raced Herschel and it wasn't even close.
I remember the story about him in college, running the 60 yard dash.
Well here's the video... What a lineup.
Herschel Walker 230 lb beast RB
Carl Lewis - Nuff said
Stanley Floyd- 100m favorite for olympics the US boycotted/record holder. Beat by Herschel
Emmit King - Bronze medalist at 1983 world championships for 100m.
Mel Lattany - 5th man to break 10 sec barrier in 100m the following year. Herschel track teammate and beat by Herschel.
Carl Lewis actually beat Hershel's time in the following heat. But Herschel joked he had the world record for a few minutes.
And a 10.22 in the 100 meters. At RB size (40 lbs heavier than Tyreek, and faster than Deion's 100m best.
I remember with the Eagles late in his career, he had a 90 yard rush, reception and return. No other player had ever done that in a career and he did all 3 in the same year.
That one amazes me, not just a return specialist. Not a WR or corner. But a power back 10-15 lbs heavier than Marshawn Lynch.
When it comes to fastest players to ever play, I guess Jim Hines is at the top of my list still though he barely played. I believe he's still the only sub 10 second 100m athlete in the NFL. Held the 100m record for 15 years. Bo or Chris Johnson might have had better acceleration at the start to get better 40 times.
Apparently you do, since you poo-pooed the story, and gave additional requirements on how to judge speed.Your mistake is thinking I care either... Hill is just proxy for the obvious (and he is the subject in the OP). We can talk about John Ross, Devin Hester, Randy Moss, etc if you wish.
If I am being to caustic, I am arguing that the combine data> MPH top speed arguments. It's yard/touch level nonsense to me.
Pooh-poohing would imply I gave no reasons whatsoever besides "that can't be true."Apparently you do, since you poo-pooed the story, and gave additional requirements on how to judge speed.
I always though that if Herschel was a car he would be a Buick GNX. Fast as fuck till that first corner... A north south kind of guy.
Yeah, he had to get those massive shoulder pads square first. But damn I liked him, even with Dallas. One of my favorite athletes. I know there's no way a guy who's 55 could play a position like RB in today's NFL, but if one could, he'd be the guy.
Still can run a sub-4.4 he says and I saw him back at Georgia on the SEC channel with their players in a practice and he was putting them to shame in their workouts.
Wasn't his workout routine push ups only?? Something like that.
I saw this weekend where they said there is no longer an open case or investigation. Looks like he is going to get off.Could not find the thread on his child abuse case but reports are coming out of Kansas City that the police are saying the broken arm was an accident and no charges will be filed against anyone
