Just how fast is this guy?

In HS he ran a 20.14 200m which was the second (20.13 my future Olympian Roy Martin) fastest ever ran by a HS kid. He also ran a 10.19 100m which is cooking for HS.

He is like Bob Hayes, Cliff Branch a footballer with sprinter speed. Not a track guy trying to play football.

Hill also won the BIG12 indoor 60 title then moved on to just football. If he'd stayed in track it's very realistic to see him a legit threat to make our 2020 Olympic team in the 200m.

He is the only NFLer today with legit World Class jets.

While here......

Christian McCaffrey's grandpa was 1960 Olympic 100m silver medalist Dave Sime, he was also a 9.3 100 yards world record holder.

That is of little value because of field conditions, the wind, the temp.

BUT........

While the touchdown didn’t count, Hill’s top speed on the return was the fastest measured in the NFL this season, according to the league’s NextGen stats: 23.24 mph.*

Hill is a legit track star he would totally smoke those mentioned in the 40, 60 100 and 200.

Henry never broke 11.00 for 100m, he does not possess legit sprint speed.

Running a 10.19 at the HS level tells us as a college senior we have a 10.05 guy in Hill and a 19.88ish at 200m.

Those times make him one of those top 5ish to ever play pro football.

Think he’s faster than Hester in his prime?

Hester's straight line, longer distance speed was great... but actually not anything insane. Hill is probably faster in a straight line.

What was absurd was his acceleration... When he hit the gas, his first 0-10 yards were unlike anything I've ever seen. He used to start out running east/west on punt returns, being patient at a nice cruise level speed and then he'd see that little seam. He was through it before you could blink. It was super hero shit.

I mean, look how quick he explodes from the 15 to the 30 here. It's like he entered a cheat code that put cement on everyone else's shoes.

Hill is maybe the fastest player to have been in the NFL. He is plenty faster than slowass D.Henry, lmao. Hill's also kind of insane in terms of quickness and accelerations which is what separates his brand of speed from the Jacoby Fords, Dri Archers, etc of the NFL who do nothing... besides actually being good at his position.

This is what separates Hill from the rest. We have seen plenty of fast top end guys that were faster than everyone else on the field. However, quickness and acceleration is a more important factor in the nfl. When you have all 3 like hill, you get elite.

Hill has tremendous speed AND acceleration . He apsovus smaller with shorter strude length so he just looks 5 times faster than big guys with long strides.

Little guys always look faster. Hill actually is though .

I used to watch Usain Bolt Rin and the dude looked like he was loafing but would just obliterate people . Then I read an article saying his average stride was 31 percent longer than a normal sprinter . Lol. 31 percent . The guy in the NFL like that now is Barkley . Guy looks like he's jogging and dusting people

Herschel Walkers' speed always amazed me. Had a buddy who trained and played with him in the USFL, and they'd work out in cocoa beach. Said he was the fastest guy on his college team. Raced Herschel and it wasn't even close.

I remember the story about him in college, running the 60 yard dash.

Well here's the video... What a lineup.

Herschel Walker 230 lb beast RB
Carl Lewis - Nuff said
Stanley Floyd- 100m favorite for olympics the US boycotted/record holder. Beat by Herschel
Emmit King - Bronze medalist at 1983 world championships for 100m.
Mel Lattany - 5th man to break 10 sec barrier in 100m the following year. Herschel track teammate and beat by Herschel.

Carl Lewis actually beat Hershel's time in the following heat. But Herschel joked he had the world record for a few minutes.

And a 10.22 in the 100 meters. At RB size (40 lbs heavier than Tyreek, and faster than Deion's 100m best.

I remember with the Eagles late in his career, he had a 90 yard rush, reception and return. No other player had ever done that in a career and he did all 3 in the same year.

That one amazes me, not just a return specialist. Not a WR or corner. But a power back 10-15 lbs heavier than Marshawn Lynch.

When it comes to fastest players to ever play, I guess Jim Hines is at the top of my list still though he barely played. I believe he's still the only sub 10 second 100m athlete in the NFL. Held the 100m record for 15 years. Bo or Chris Johnson might have had better acceleration at the start to get better 40 times.
