Obviously @lasgop8 hates JVR and calls him Big Pus on a regular basis. Who is your Big Pus? Which Flyer who most most people either like or at least feel is ok do you think just plain sucks? I’m not talking about MacD, Lehterä or Weise who get slammed on a regular basis.

My Big Pus is Scott Laughton. He’s a relatively talented player who just displays a complete vacuum between the ears. Absolutely stupid plays all too often, again, somewhat covered by decent talent.

You?

I’m actually not a huge Couturier fan believe it or not haha. I don’t think he sucks, not even a little bit. But I do think he’s a bit over rated. I just don’t think he has much offensive skill at all. He’s great defensively, and drives play in the right direction, but I think they have at least 3 guys that should be on the 1PP over him. I’m not even sure I’d have him on my 2PP.

To be clear, I’m still very happy to have him on the team.

Interesting. I see Couturier as a player with very high hockey IQ, and he plays more of a heady, positional game. This makes him strong at 5 on 5 and on the PK. He has good but definitely not great talent. On the PP, I think you definitely need your most offensively dynamic players out there. That's not his strongest suit so I see your point. He's probably a PP2 type player. I think he's only on PP1 in an effort to split up the talent a bit, or perhaps to try to take advantage of his chemistry with Giroux.

I see Laughton as a guy with below average hockey IQ, average talent and an above average motor. If he had more between the ears from a hockey perspective he'd be a good player. As it stands he's just a 4th liner on a good team, disappointing for a former 1st round pick. It was a weak draft year though and there wasn't really much left on the board by the time the Flyers picked, so in hindsight it was a year to have traded up if possible.

My obvious choice would be any of our 20 plus goalies we have. If any of them could actually stay healthy to play in consecutive games. Take your pick Neuverth, Elliott, Stolarz, Lyons, anyone I'm missing?

I actually like Laughton. I like the energy he plays with. I agree though, on a good team he’s a 4th liner, and in that role I think he’s great. Just a shame he was a 1st rounder as you mentioned.

Yep, that was my point here. Which player do you dislike who most people like? :suds:

Ghost, provy, lindblom, Amac, voracek, Jvr, Raffl, has anyone scene Konecny?

5 goals and 5 assists in his last 7 games. Yeah, I've noticed him. What the hell are you talking about!?

This thread is a joke, btw. I'd delete it.

I have a few choices...but really, Wayne Simmonds.

Let me be clear. Simmonds can be a productive player. He can be a sparkplug. He is also selfish, he takes stupid penalties, he turns the puck over with regularity. Everyone talks about how key he is in the room, but the issues in the room have been going on since he arrived and have not improved...that makes me think he is part of them. He is also over 30 and plays a style that wears players out and the decline is rapid.

Ghost. He has regressed to the point he reminds me of his first call up. He defensive zone play is a horrible. When he is carrying and skating and his shot is hitting the net, he is a valuable weapon. When he is turning puck over, taking the wrong angles on back checks and generally failing to play in his own zone...well...buh bye.

I am sure if I have another bottle of wine I can come up with something new or different
