Problem is selling tickets to fans of the potential teams involved.
You have to consider travel, hotels, game tickets purchasing, etc.

No way.

That is just an excuse. Travel cost for fans as a reason not to expand playoffs? Cmon man.

Some fans will travel, some won't. The games will still sell out because neutral fans have high interest in playoff games. We aren't talking about meaningless random bowls here.

Not to mention, TV revenue would be off the charts.

well, including THE Ohio State University, the biggest College Football TV draw in the nation by far, would help....why I gave Ohio State the slimmest of chances to get in even though ND and OU had overall better resumes (though OSU had the best win- their loss- a blowout to Purdue- was their anchor).

Tv money does matter though.

Under the current rules, I agree with you that UCF should not get in. However, I also think it's about time a mid-major like them got a shot. An 8 team playoff would allow for that without taking a spot away from a P5 team or conference champion.

I would've loved for UCF to get in, because I just want UCF fans to shut up. Those dudes talk a big game, but I mentioned that they should play Bama then they all of a sudden make note of why they should be taking on OU or Notre Dame. Those guys want the easiest path to a national title as possible. But even at 8-teams, I'd still remain skeptical on UCF getting in most years given their schedule.

How do you book hotels, flights and buy tickets if you arent sure if and where you will be playing?
