I don't mind the Donaldson signing. Only a one year deal that has a potentially high reward, but I have to think this means that either Johan or Dansby is gonna be traded somewhere. Hopefully Dansby. Like Dansby, but Johan is a better player with both the bat and glove.

I don't like the McCann signing. It's cheap enough, but it just seems like a nostalgia move and he's a shell of his former self. We would have been better off keeping Suzuki, and if this is the answer to our catching needs, I'm gonna be pretty disappointed, but it seems like it will be.

I'd like some pitching, not some guys that are likely washed. At least its short deals

But Donaldson is potentially really high reward. He's just a year removed from being one of the best 3B in the game. If he's anything close to that, he's worth it, and if he's not, he's off the books in the offseason and we have viable options at third if he's still injury prone.

The McCann signing kind of annoys me though. He looked done last season and he's years removed from being a good hitting catcher. It just feels like a nostalgia move, and if were going this route, I'll never understand why we chose Flowers over Suzuki. Suzuki was a far better hitter, neither could throw out any base stealers and across the board, our pitchers had better ERAs with Suzuki behind the plate.

I liked Joe. You never knew when he would trigger an opposing fanbase, but I thought Francoeur was great in the games he did last season, so I think we got a good one. Hopefully he doesn't get swept up for a national gig like Smoltz did.

I would like to see Chip gone. I loved his Dad, but he aint him.

Every fly ball is "hammered".

He tries to hard to be smart/witty.

On further reflection, maybe I should try to be a better person.

So...is McCann or Flowers our primary catcher?? Honestly as much as I hate the McCann signing id rather have him out there over Flowers.

Nationals acquire Yan Gomes....and had to give up 2 unhighley rated prospects for him. :L

They have Suzuki and Gomes and we have McCann and Flowers....Fuck this

I'd have to guess McCann if healthy. But I just don't see him being productive the way he was here the first time around. Plus his defense his some of the worst

I didn't like the idea of Kranitz at first either however he's coming very highly regarded from many around the league.

I'll give him a chance. If even a couple of our pitchers can throw strikes on a regular basis, it's an upgrade over what we had.
