Didn't even let him use the coach-firing card. They must be really pissed in Philly.

Which is so odd from a city and team that are usually so patient...Didn't even let him use the coach-firing card. They must be really pissed in Philly.

I dunno. I see a lot of bustinessin Strome and Perlini is very meh to me. I like Schmaltz's game.
I think this is a good trade for the Yotes. Hawks are gambling on the two incoming players to turn it around. Not sure they're going to be rewarded. I think they got a couple of 3rd liners for a good 2nd liner.
So the question is what former flyer star player will they bring in to foul up next? They did leave Bobby Clarke in his position for 19 years...

We'll see, I think Schmaltz may be the millennial version of Steve Rucchin.
Yeah, but at this point if the devil appeared and offered Strome a Rucchin-like career wouldn't his new nickname be "Faust Line Centre"?
Hexy did a good job in getting us out of cap hell and stockpiling the farm system, his biggest downfall is he thinks when all those prospects are in thier prime we will be on top for a long time, hockey doesn't work that way. Also he screwed the pooch on getting a good goalie, he essentially got rid of Mason for another Mason, he also went out and got JVR who granted had a decent time Toronto but doesn't bring much of an all around game and is already playing on the third line. His unwillingness to fill in crucial pieces especially on the PK is what I think ended up killing him. May be morw heads rolling to, maybe Hakstol out and Quinneville in?Serious question(s):
I haven't seen a lot of Flyers games, but have they really been that bad? I mean 7 points out of the top of a tough division doesn't seem awful.
And if there is a problem, is it on Ronnie? I mean, he did draft some solid pieces and has like 9m in cap space for a competitive team. Gostisbehere, Patrick, Provorov, Konecny and Lindblom is a pretty decent young core. Add in Couturier, Giroux, Voracek and Simmonds and I think there are a lot of teams that would love to have a bunch of those pieces.
And you can't blame him for the Flyers goaltending woes. No goalie they have ever had (since Hextall) has amounted to anything until they leave Philly. And their two best are hurt.
I hear Dave Schultz has fallen on hard times...I think he'd be ideal to bring back real "Flyers Hockey"I'm hoping for Andre 'Moose' Dupont.
