Depends if you see either Strome or Perlini as future good NHLers. I don't.

Schmaltz at least has some speed and has shown he can produce in the NHL.

He didn't draft Strome (although god friggen bless whoever did) nor Perlini and at this point he's probably managing for his job so he might as well do whatever he can to get the team to bounce this year.

I dunno. I see a lot of bustiness in Strome and Perlini is very meh to me. I like Schmaltz's game.

I think this is a good trade for the Yotes. Hawks are gambling on the two incoming players to turn it around. Not sure they're going to be rewarded. I think they got a couple of 3rd liners for a good 2nd liner.
