TSN radio was just saying the last GM change in-season was Jarmo in Columbus in 2013. Murray taking over for fuckwad in 2008 was the one before. Very rare occurrence.

They also said that Daniel Briere could be a replacement.

Maybe Pronger.

lol

Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger
Chuck Fletcher and Ron Francis among the early names as potential GM’s in Philly. Both experienced men. Francis is in the process of divesting equity in Carolina.
In 4 full seasons, Hextall's Flyers made the playoffs twice and won no rounds.

In a combined 13 seasons as GM, Francis and Fletcher combined for 6 playoff appearances and two first round victories (none since the playoff format changed).

The NHL and their retreads, man.

Oh man, how great would it have been if they had brought Pronger in when he still "played" in Arizona? He could have been the only active HHOFer who was also a member of the DoPS and a GM.

What a resume!

Well done

I can't find the clip but when I thought that up I flashed to Jack Horner in "Boogie Nights" (probably on my mind because Ricky Jay (RIP) is in the scene):

"This is the one I want them to remember me by"

Tom Wilson is a god damned American hero.

Caps are 6-1 since his return and he's logged 9 points in 7 games.

Knew changes were coming with the Flyers. Didn't think Hextall would be the 1 to get fired though.

Well looks like I missed a goaltending and defensive duel between the Wings and BJ's last night...

It sounds like Holmgren wanted to accelerate the rebuild process and Hextall was not willing to do so...

Holmgren: “Ron [Hextall] was unyielding in his plan.”

Frank Seravalli @frank_seravalli
#Flyers’ Dave Scott: “I boiled it down to: Do I think that we can be better now, not 2-3 years from now? The answer to that is yes.”

Frank Seravalli @frank_seravalli
#Flyers / Comcast Spectacor CEO Dave Scott: “We need to make more progress.”
