Rock Strongo

My mind spits with an enormous kickback.

Yep. He's gotta stay healthy though.

Apparently, they were close with Houston, but insisted on Whitley and the 'Stros balked, so they took the Yanks "2nd best" offer.

2 years of control is the kicker.
now if the sox can only sign evaoldi

I think it's stupid of any franchise to call any prospect "untouchable." I am a little surprised they gave him up for Paxton, though.

He's now been traded twice. Yanks got him and Frazier from you guys for Andrew Miller.

I'm good with turning him into a cost-controlled somewhat proven young lefty.

Now if Frazier could stop concussing himself we might be in business.

Fair points.

I'm not "shocked," just a little surprised. Paxton seems like a pretty average pitcher to me (pitches better than average, but can't stay on the field).

Almost 12K/9 last year is what jumps out at me. He throws hard, he's got good command, and he misses bats.

Of course, a year and a half ago we were all blowing each other over Sonny Gray, so let's just see what happens.

Paxton is a bigger brittle bitch than Gronkowski and he's got a weak constitution. New York will eat him alive.

How many times have the Yankees bent the Mariners over in a trade?
Word, especially that Buhner for Phelps trade. Now go run to Zigs and tell on me like you always do.

That article was written by a half-witted fuck.

Syndergaard, Carrasco and Kluber are all reportedly on the trade block, the author acknowledges as much, and then writes that Paxton is "quite possibly the best pitcher available."

Fuck the heck?

I mostly posted that just to stir shit. :dhd:

I don't think Paxton is an ace just because he hasn't demonstrated an ability to make 30+ starts or pitch 180 innings, but I don't think it's a stretch to say he's one of the best pitchers in the AL when he is on the mound. Kinda like Rich Hill the last few years. Not better than Carrasco/Kluber/Syndergaard though.

Good pickup for the Yanks. Paxton should fit in well on their team.

Paxton had a 3.67 ERA in a pitchers' park. Think that will improve in Yankee Stadium? Especially with the short porch in RF?
