2 MW teams in the top 25. Hopefully USU and FSU keep winning to make the conference look good. The pendulum is starting to swing back towards the MWC (from the AAC) in the national conversation.

Rypien is incredible. He and the receiving group is single-handedly holding this season together.

What in the world is wrong with the defense? They've had a couple good games this year, but it's been a bad stretch going back to Oklahoma State now. Between that and the inconsistent run game, it's basically turned into "Rypien has to be near perfect to beat mediocre MW teams". Not a great spot to be in for this program.

The defense is miserable. Yes they are extremely banged up, but so are most other teams as well this time of the year. It's no excuse. It has to be better. Right now it stinks.

Defense was atrocious but Rypien was absolutely nails. My favorite attribute is his ability to stand tall in the pocket and deliver strikes as he's about to take a big hit which was again evidenced by his 35 yard TD to CT Thomas on 4th and 10 with 5 seconds left in the half. That play was huge. We needed it desperately. He got absolutely jackhammered on that throw and needed six stitches in his chin.

Mattison is a talented runner, tough and downhill. He ran with a purpose. Stand up brother too. Love that kid.

It sucks, all offseason we talked about how Rypien was going to need to take the next step as a passer and the receivers are going to have to step up....we thought if those two things happened we were going to be in for a special season

Instead we already have two losses with two blowouts coming up soon because our offensive line can't block and the defense has imploded

I agree, this season would have set up really well for us had we lived up to our potential.

If they keep winning they both could be in the top 15 heading into conference championship week, I'd like to see that

It's ironic, isn't it? I really thought the issue would be Rypien and his WRs preventing us from having something really special and for the most part they have been nails this season, especially the WRs who have basically been down the guy who was expected to be the biggest stud of them all in Octavius Evans.

It is really great to see how much all our receivers have stepped up this year, this is also the first time in the Harsin era where we spread it around instead of just looking at one receiver most of the time. I wonder if Evans can just redshirt at this point. He definitely hasn't been around 4 games and has only caught 2 passes. Modster and Richardson are both seniors so we will need replacements.

Harsin is a idiot, but he got lucky against BYU, clock management was terrible.

This team just isn't very good, unfortunately. I've been waiting for that early season mojo to return, but for whatever reason, it's just not happening.

Big showdown on Friday night. Fresno is probably the better team and probably the best team they've seen all year.

It's at home at least :noidea:

Yep, it's not looking good, they're going to run us off our home field

First time we’ve been home dogs in a conference game in over 20 years. And the line is only 3. They are going to absolutely kick our ass.

In a weird way, this feels like one of those games that they'll show up for and actually win.

It's the October game in Logan, or the early November game in Boise against UNM or Air Force that they normally lose in conference.

Or maybe I'm just trying to talk myself into a win. Who knows. Fresno looks really good, but they also haven't played anyone.

Our defense is mediocre. They will score, probably a lot. And on the other side of the ball our offense isn't going to be able to do a damn thing against that defense. I expect to see an embarrassing result. Hope I'm wrong. It certainly wouldn't be the first time.

Fresno State has never won on the blue....so there's that I guess

They're pretty much better than us at every facet of the game, I suspect we're going to lose pretty badly

It will even be worse in a few weeks though when Utah State comes to town, that's gonna hurt

Really good win on Friday. That was a big boost of energy for the team and the fanbase - the next two games have some real meaning now.

Whoever ends up starting at QB next year has huge shoes to fill - Rypien has been incredible this year.

Chase Cord will probably be the starter and I'm actually excited for him. He's shown well in his limited action so far, he's also very mobile and I think he actually better suits the offense the coaching staff wants to run.

You think he will be back before the season starts? I hope you're right, but that seems like a fast recovery period.

Oh crap, I completely forgot he tore his ACL :L

We're already living our worst case scenario for this year

Well, it all comes down to Saturday. Need a Memphis win and obviously a BSU win to follow.

The fact that this team is two wins away from a New Years Six Bowl is pretty incredible. I've been tough on Harsin and company at times, but they've rallied since the SDSU loss, even with a few close calls.

Then we completely face-planted last night with a conference championship on the line :L

Kent Riddle will hopefully get canned sometime in the next 48 hours, his blocking schemes suck! Despite how poorly we played in general his blocking scheme cost us the game by leading to yet another blocked kick
