2 MW teams in the top 25. Hopefully USU and FSU keep winning to make the conference look good. The pendulum is starting to swing back towards the MWC (from the AAC) in the national conversation.
Rypien is incredible. He and the receiving group is single-handedly holding this season together.
What in the world is wrong with the defense? They've had a couple good games this year, but it's been a bad stretch going back to Oklahoma State now. Between that and the inconsistent run game, it's basically turned into "Rypien has to be near perfect to beat mediocre MW teams". Not a great spot to be in for this program.
Defense was atrocious but Rypien was absolutely nails. My favorite attribute is his ability to stand tall in the pocket and deliver strikes as he's about to take a big hit which was again evidenced by his 35 yard TD to CT Thomas on 4th and 10 with 5 seconds left in the half. That play was huge. We needed it desperately. He got absolutely jackhammered on that throw and needed six stitches in his chin.
Mattison is a talented runner, tough and downhill. He ran with a purpose. Stand up brother too. Love that kid.

It sucks, all offseason we talked about how Rypien was going to need to take the next step as a passer and the receivers are going to have to step up....we thought if those two things happened we were going to be in for a special season
Instead we already have two losses with two blowouts coming up soon because our offensive line can't block and the defense has imploded
It's ironic, isn't it? I really thought the issue would be Rypien and his WRs preventing us from having something really special and for the most part they have been nails this season, especially the WRs who have basically been down the guy who was expected to be the biggest stud of them all in Octavius Evans.
Really good win on Friday. That was a big boost of energy for the team and the fanbase - the next two games have some real meaning now.
Whoever ends up starting at QB next year has huge shoes to fill - Rypien has been incredible this year.
Chase Cord will probably be the starter and I'm actually excited for him. He's shown well in his limited action so far, he's also very mobile and I think he actually better suits the offense the coaching staff wants to run.
You think he will be back before the season starts? I hope you're right, but that seems like a fast recovery period.
