Maybe you should be talking about POTENTIAL, which is what Coop has. He will clearly be the #-1 next time they take the field. If they can get him the ball, that will open up the run game.
AND.....think of how many more touches this will give Beasley who is flat ballin' right now. Let's give it a chance.
At least their tryin' sumthin!
While I think this is all 100% true...it doesn't automatically mean that it was smart to give up a first and pay full value for him. No one is doubting that the team is better with Cooper. The question is whether or not he is better than the cap dollars he'll take up plus the first round pick. IMO we could have used those assets to help the team more than Cooper will. BUT, as I have said he is on the team and I'm not going to kick and scream about it and the fact that we are clearly better on the field than we were last week partially offsets the fact that i think we overpaid.

It's really a bottom line equation. If Cooper can get back to where he was year one or two, giving up a mid 1st will seem a small price to pay. If he plays the way he has the last year, then it logs in beside the Williams and Galloway deals

I like this trade better than the previous two,but still not ecstatic over the trade. We needed a #1 and I think he is one of those. The best part is he is 24 and this could turn out good for us for the future..

He makes Captain Obvious jealous.
He got all the catch phrases in except for "the right kind of guy". I wonder if he was clapping while he said it?

I have no confidence that this coaching staff will use Cooper correctly. in theory teams will have to revert back to how they defended the Cowboys in 2016 which will i open up the running game and passing game.

I don’t think he was even that good his first two years. His numbers weren’t that much better then Jordan Matthews.

I’m an idiot for stating a statistical fact. The idiot might be who ever approved that trade and Dallas gives up a top 10 pick for an OK receiver who is owed a new contract too. Maybe it works out and gets Dallas over the hump because they are in the thick of the race in the NFC East but long term it might be a devastating trade. We shall see.

I wish those who wish to troll would do so in the trash talk thread. Hell that's what it's there for.

The Saints gave up 1st and 3rd to move up and draft Cooks. The Pats give a first and third for Cooks. The Rams give a 1st for Cooks. All these moves were applauded. The Cowboys trade a first for Amari Cooper and the general consensus is Dallas got fleeced
cooks numbers dwarf coopers

Wasnt trolling at all. I don’t think you give up a potential top 10 pick for an average receiver who is nearing free agency. Especially how well Dallas has been drafting in the first over the last decade. Just don’t think the guy is very good.

There's nothing devastating about the trade lol. And it won't be a top 10 pick lol. There's a good chance Dallas wins the division. Your Eagles were willing to give a 2nd for Cooper, Dallas just beat them to the punch. If the Eagles had signed him you'd be jumping for joy

I know I am gonna hate myself in the morning.... but.

If the eagles would have given a 2nd for Cooper. I would have said they gave to much.
So obviously like most of us has said. We gave too much in a 1st. kinda stupid at this point to argue this. Will it work out for us? Lets hope so ( I would love to eat crow) but I think at most it becomes serviceable. it was a risk trade. All sides knows that.

but for Cowboy fans that get drawn into his BS. (that sometimes includes me) just remember you are debating with a poster that claims it is a top 10 pick LOL.
Since there is an argument of about 6 teams vying for the top pick overall, you cant take a poster thinking seriously who thinks the cowboys pick (no matter how bad the coaching is) will be a top ten pick.
Just wave your hand at him & say shoo fly dont bother me!

Beat them to the punch means you got it done quicker. No team would give up a first for him. I’d be cool with a number 2 cause it might be the 50th pick or later. Right now Dallas is sitting at pick number 9. There’s a very small chance Dallas wins the division. They are two games and a tie breaker behind the Skin who have an incredibly easy schedule. I’m starting to think Philly can’t catch up either but if they go 4-5 with a very easy schedule Dallas has to go 8-1.

A good chance they win the division? Have you been watching the Cowboys dude. They are a pretty poor team.
