Kirk Cousins?

They upgraded at QB allegedly and are going to have to make a run to make the postseason.

They lose this weekend and they are in serious trouble.
Make a run?

They're a half game back in the division and are the best team by a significant amount.

Gruden has never had overly impressive play from QBs.

Gannon did well, but his best was post Gruden. Threw for 800 more yards the year after Gruden left.

Patrick Mahomes. Seen as the Second Coming by some but not even close to enough data to be sure how good he is. Give the league some time to figure him out like they did to Kaepernick and then we'll see.

Career or right now ?

Right now my top 3
Cousins , Stafford , Luck

No one really talks about Carr do not sure he can be overrated . Ultimately winning is the biggest criteria imo and the 3 I listed don't do a whole lot of that . I'd give Luck a semi pass because he's been hurt but he's trending poorly even before that

QB's are no better than the OL and receivers. Dallas receivers are so terrible Drew Brees would fall short

Cousins is one of the main reasons the Vikings are even 2-2-1. If we had Keenum, Bridgewater, or Bradford (any of our QB's from last year), they'd be 1-4 right now. The defense has been the biggest issue with the team this year, with the kicking game costing us a firm win in Green Bay. The offensive line is also terrible; if they had just average O-line play their offense could probably even have won them the game against the Rams despite the defense getting clowned all game long.

The new rules are what almost gave you a “firm win”. If the game ended when it was supposed to end, Cousins would have had like 150 less yards and pretty mediocre stats.

All jokes aside his noodle arm doesn't help with his receiving core. Not sure there is a worse QB at throwing a fade than him.
Let me preface folks like Nate Peterman, CJ Beathard are not QB's they are just players who by default line up behind the center take the snap.

Lulz.... this again? What about Kendricks getting called earlier in the game on a 3rd down play, extending GB's drive that lead to a score?

Oh... but that doesn't count!!! Waaaaah!

Are you still upset about that RTP call against Matthews on Cousins? I'm pretty sure I've said before that I agree that the QB protection rules are getting out of hand and that if it were up to me, the rules wouldn't have called that RTP.

But like I've also said, they called Kendricks for laying the exact same type of hit on Rodgers earlier in the same game, shortly before the half. You can argue all you want about the Rodgers call ultimately having the biggest impact on the game, but the worst thing refs can do is be inconsistent in their calls within the same games, so they couldn't really let that slide after calling the Vikings for it earlier. Had Kendricks gone uncalled, I would agree that calling Matthews in that game would have been ridiculous. It also doesn't matter what you or I think of the rules, but ultimately, they were called according to the writing of the current RTP rules.

Rip on those rules all you want, but don't act like the Vikings benefited any more from those types of calls in that game than Green Bay did in that game. If we want to go down the excuse making road, I'd point out that our kicker failed us not once, but THREE times to put us up enough to win, including twice in OT to end it. And Green Bay was gifted 3 points by the Kendricks hit. But I think that if we're honest, both us Vikings and Packers fans could admit the officiating made a potential classic game into a joke, and we should both want to just forget about it more or less rather than complain about who "should have won". Both teams played great that game, the officiating was weird (per the new rules), and the tied end of the game reflects those things.

I keep seeing people say this yet Ryan ranks in the top 5 most every year for deep ball efficiency . You think it's just the wideouts are thst good ? Could be. He's had some great ones

Based on the magnitude of the moment yeah I would say the Vikings benefited more. The refs calling back a game ending play is different than something that happened in the second quarter. Just because the calls were the same doesn’t mean they had the same impact.

Who's to say that there would even be an opportunity if the flag wasn't thrown earlier? Come on derpski! Be smarter! :suds:

I want to agree but it’s just hard to assume a game will go exactly the same from that point forward if the call was different. Kind of like a check swing in baseball turning into a walk instead of a strikeout. Everything changes after that. Pitchers will throw different pitches which lead to different results. I have faith that Rodgers would’ve still put us in a position to win in the 4th. :suds:
