Hope you can make it SF!

Looks like we're down to Leier vs Weise vs Lehtera for the final roster spots. Gotta waive 1, who are you waiving?

Weise hands down for me. I'd actually put trading Weal as 2nd on my list, as I've been unimpressed with him, too. Knight, Leier and Lehtera have all looked serviceable in 4th line roles. I have to wonder if Weal is the type of player who either needs to play in the top 6 due to injuries (he doesn't have the talent to play there full time, but is decent as a fill-in) or sit in the press box. He brings nothing when surrounded by less talented players. Weise though brings nothing regardless.

I'm with you, I go Weise too. Lehtera has gotten a lot of shit, but I think he's a more useful player than Weise. He's obviously slower than dirt, but outside of that I didn't think he was THAT bad. Weise just sucks.

I like Weal, not a ton, but more than you do I guess. I think he'd be find in the top 9 with the depth the Flyers have up front this season. I'd rather slide him in to the top 9 and keep Raffl on the 4th line, than move Raffl up and add a Weise/Leier/Lehtera type to the 4th line. That being said, I hope it's a return of the honeybees for the 4th line. Keep Lehtera as your healthy scratch and waive Weise.

Hartnell announced his retirement today. One of my faves. He brought a lot of fun to the game to be sure.

And you do know Hartnell just retired.. I'm thinking we know who Gritty really is?

For whatever reason my chromebook won't allow me to add gifs? Hartnell really could get away with our new mascot. Voracek as well.

Yeah I'd probably keep Lehtera he offers few more options and had a decent preseason. Otherwise keep the younger cheaper players when tied...

Hm. They waived Weise and Leier. Interesting.

One hypothesis was they will need to waive another play when Knight gets back (assuming they want him at 4C), better chance of slipping Leier through today than they would in a few weeks. Too many players on waivers today and most teams don't have the room to claim someone.

Other thought that I had, maybe there's someone that they're thinking could be on waivers today that they want to claim. Waiving Leier and Weise puts them at 22 active guys on the roster, they could put a claim in if they so choose.

I like Leier as a 4th liner quite a bit tbh. Good speed, good tenacity. Hope he doesn't get claimed.

Nice win this weekend mall. Would've preferred if both teams had lost, but the odds weren't good on that one ;)

I read that about Knight also. Suggested he may be closer to return than first reported.

I was at the Philly Airport watching bits of it at Chickie and Pete's. I left the OBX late Saturday and happen to fly into Philly and watched about an hour of the game. My nerves were off the charts watching the tail end.

This goes back to what I had originally predicted, the preference to keep Cs on the roster for more flexibility.

Interesting thought. Definitely gives them some added possibilities.

Lindblom, Raffl, Simmonds, JVR and Voracek are the only natural wingers on the Flyers roster.

That would be a bad ass 3rd uniform.

Would make a killer goalie mask.

I sell a variation to those as decals....I'll have to post them up for y'all.

Little side hobby for extra bucks.

72 more hours until our regular season begins. It's probably not easy to start the season in Vegas, but I expect big things from this squad. Elliott and MacDonald are the only two players north of 31 years old, so we're mostly young and improving at every position. That said, we're also loaded with veterans in the age group of 25-30, which you figure would include the primes of their careers.

Pretty excited for the Phantoms too. How good is that team going to be with all of the young talent suddenly plugged in?
