There's just not that much demand for them. There's a reason they were on waivers in the first place. I would say there's a surplus of NHL/AHL swingmen goalies in the league right now. Flyers just a really good example of that.

The only way they will move either of them is to move them with a "sweetner". They either eat money or we add picks in the deal. That is how little value they have.

Pickard was a pretty highly regarded prospect just a few years ago. Picked #49 in 2010, ranked as the #1 NA goalie that season.
Pickard showed some good flash's in Colorado playing for a bad Av's team, he could be a good component down the road this year.

Heh. Only problem is they've got 5 guys that are either fringe NHL-ers or hurt too often to be relied on.

I do like the pickup. Free, decent, has potential. But what are they going to do if/when 6 goalies are healthy? I could see them using Elliot/Pickard at the NHL level, waiving Neuvy and just outright sending him home. Can't deal with his injuries any more. But then you still have Stolie/Lyon/Hart at the AHL level, which is too many.

I definitely think they expect to have one or two guys claimed. Lyon, Stolarz, and Pickard all need waivers now at some point.
I think chances of this happening are slim and none. Neuvy will get injured at some point and Elliott is a probable. Hopefully Stolie can stay healthy and regain his form from 2 years ago. My guess is that we Hart at some point in the second half of the season.

With the acquisition of Pickard, I don't think we will see Carter Hart in the Nhl at all this season, but that's also probably better news for his development and the franchise as a whole moving forward.

Hexy doesn't want this kid in the Nhl at age 20 and neither do I, really. It's wise to let him grow and learn for at least one Ahl season first.

Now, if he dominates the Ahl rather quickly and all of our other goalies get injured or fall flat, that may change the situation...

Was the night before hockey, and all through the house
You could hear 4thstreet shouting-"give me the fucking mouse
Checking out streams,to pick up the game
But the Habs and Leafs, just isn't the same

Tonight Flyers and Knights I will happily see
And hope that the boys take it by 3

The real season starts tonight
Whip their ass Flyers!!!!
