It's amazing how, after many years of ass-kissing, Wiggy is now trying to bring lebron down.

He hasn't even played a single game yet and now all of a sudden he's like "Lebron is unhappy with the Lakers"

:pound:You can't make this shit up

I understand a certain amount of Wiggy's salt. Once a player leaves your team, he's the enemy. In Wiggy's case, Lebron went to one of the teams he hates the most. Which I'm sure just adds to it.

When Shaq left, he became the enemy and I certainly didn't want to see him win any more championships. But I also didn't go around trying trash him and question his motivation for leaving either.

Other than Hurricane with PG13, i've never seen a guy do a complete 180 on a player like wiggy has.

Yes I was disappointed when Shaq left. Just like I was disappointed about guys like Eddie Jones, Nick the Quick, Robert Horry and Pau Gasol leaving the Lakers.

But damn!!!

the ridiculous thing is they dont have hteir pick this year because they wanted to create cap room

now they are doing an about face and trying to give away cap room for draft picks

wtf.
They thought there was a chance to make the playoffs with Rondo, which was an obvious mistake. And even if he got them there the Kings weren't contending with that team. It was dumb and set the team back further than they already were. Getting a 1st round pick with their cap space now makes sense though.

His business opportunities have already been covered and he was there to talk about the upcoming season. It was kind of the point of media day.

So yes, in that setting, it was a question that shouldn't have been asked because it didn't need to be. Plaschke, or anyone else, could have looked to get a 1 on 1 interview with him for other questions.

He's had businesses in LA for years and even the movie project discussion was started 4 years ago. Now he's suddenly moving to LA just for business purposes.

Just because the questions feed your agenda, doesn't mean they were appropriate for a media day.

Not surprising that you can't see that.
i gotchya

so even though its his first availability to the media- and some of the projects are brand new- they are off limits because its bad to hurt lebrons wittle feelings.

Like i said-

LeBron's mad because he knows if he doesnt deliver wins then all the time he devotes to projects off the court will be thrown in his face and people will ask the question "would the team be doing better if he wasnt involved in ABCDEFGHI instead of just doing ABC?".

So I see your back to taking what folks have said out of context.

The point of media day is taking pictures, introducing the team to the media and fans. It's fluff. Getting into a players motivations, business dealings, etc. aren't what media day is about and never has been.

i think its perfectly legitimate to question a guy whether his off the court acitivities will be a hindrance to his on the court activities- and without a doubt- all the projects that he has going now- especially since he has gone to LA have the potential to divide his attention.

Thats why LeBron was so upset- he can see it coming a mile a way and deep down he probably knows there could be some truth to it.

and his business dealings are ABSOLUTELY fair game- hes out there promoting the stuff and trying to get eyes on his business dealings - to ask him about it and not just kiss his ass is 100% totally acceptable and expected.

what 180 have i done?

I have contended and still do- that LeBron is the best player in the league...the #1 player in the league - without any shadow of a doubt and will most likely be the #1 player for the next 2 seasons- which is practically unheard of for someone his age- but i without a doubt think he has a great chance to be the best player in the league in his age 35 season.

I think its totally fair to ask lebron if all his business ventures, including the additional ones he has picked up in recent weeks- and that he goes out of his way to market to the masses- will have some kind of effect on him.

for him to promote something like Space Jam 2 from his twitter account - and then get pissed when the media asks him about those type of business ventures- is totally hypocritical.

Literally everybody on these boards, including @ChiefsLakers67 and myself who have been extremely critical of lebron for years, has maintained that he has been the #1 player in the league for years now.

Difference is, you went from teabagging the guy to being extremely critical of him in just a matter of months, Funny how that worked as soon as he put on a Lakers jersey.

Media day is isn't about asking him about his business ventures. He's been working on that all offseason. It's basketball time.

I saw that Lue video on "Highly Questionable" today. Good to see the Cavs having some fun before the season. Don't know how much they'll have on the court this year.

#18 isn't an all time great team.

Neither are at least 60% of the teams listed ahead of 18.

The top 4 are definites though.

Anybody who doesn't have those 4 at the top in some order, I question their list.

Figured as much. Even though he's been cleared 100%, the Lakers said a few days ago that they are going to take it slow with him and that he likely won't be part of any "full contact" scrimmages for the start of training camp.

I suspect that it's also about trying to get off to a better start because they know they can't allow themselves to fall very far behind the rest of the pack while they're figuring everything out.

Folks can say what they want about Rondo, but his experience and basketball IQ should help with that.

Did Luke and Magic check with Lavar before making this decision?

I completely agree.

I just don't have the 16/17 Warriors as the best championship team of all time.

I have the 95/96 Bulls as #1, the 86/87 Lakers as #2 (yes I know, kind of a homer pick) and the Warriors and 85/86 Celtics as #s 3 and 4 (in either order)

Personally, and again i'll admit this is a homer pick, I even have the 2000/01 Lakers easily before the Cavs. Shaq was just THAT dominant. And they SWEPT through three consecutive series against teams that would be title contenders today and probably in the last 20 years.

The 11-12 Heat is particularly egregious.

I don't do well judging the teams from way back when.

I wasn't even alive to see some of those teams.

Hell, my Mom hadn't been born for one of the Celtics teams that made the list.

Agree about the top 4.

LOL. No they aren't.

#defensereallydoesmatter

Let me know when you find another playoffs team with an offense rating of 118.1...and a defensive rating of 108

The only other team to come close to that is GS...Let that sink in...

They were a good team dont get me wrong, but great?!?

If Draymond Green wasn't suspended the series would have been over in 5 or 6 and the Cavs wouldn't be any more than a side note in history.

How many times did Magic/Kareem, Jordan or Shaq/Kobe have to rely on a player getting injured or suspended to win a series?

That is the difference!

Well none of those teams they were playing were statistically as good as Golden State. It's not surprising that the cavs beat them and on their own court were draymond played the next 2 games. You do realize Irving and Love missed a game in that series as well, but i like how you glance over that.

Statistically the cavs that season had the better Offensive and defensive rating, so it's not surprising they won even without Homecourt in game 7's which never happen.

I owned you!
