This is just nuts. deGrom broke a 108-year old record with his 26th consecutive start allowing 3 runs or fewer. And he's 8-9.

Jacob deGrom sets MLB record in loss

It's amazing really.

deGrom has mad 5 starts against the Braves. He's allowed 4 runs in 33 innings against them, and the only reason he isn't averaging more innings per start is because he had leave in the 4th inning of a game that had shutout written all over it because he tweaked something. Team is 0-5 in those starts. How is that possible?

Wilbon got all pissy on PTI this week b/c there are people out there that think deGrom should win the Cy Young. He kept crying about "WINS WINS WINS WINS"

deGrom would have over 15 wins right now if he pitched for the Reds. Not his fault his teammates are all losers.

Well Conforto has been red hot, if only someone had asked him to play like that the first 5 months of the season.

Pitching staff was really good this year (for the most part). Wasted talent. Get a major league catcher, the pitchers deserve it. Sign a real center fielder (Lorenzo Cain would have looked really good in that spot). Hire a new training/medical staff because the guys they have suck.

Might have something in Jeff McNeil. .329/.381/.471 with only 24 strikeouts in 248 PA. Not too far off from what he did in the minors (.311/.380/.443). He had an OPS over 1.000 in AA and AAA (still very good even if it's the PCL). Probably won't sustain the .359 BABIP and maybe power especially given his modest exit velocity and barrels per PA, but the very low strikeout rate is impressive.
