I don't quite know how he was underrated - he was the kind of player "Hockey Men" love.One of the more underrated forwards of the last couple decades.

That's why it's pretty much a given that he's Hall-bound despite not even passing 1000 pts and having a generally healthy career.

Did anybody not named Crosby or Ovechkin ever get "national press" during that era?Underrated in that he very rarely got national press. He was well-respected by his peers and true hockey fans, but the media and league undervalued him.
