Officially done because of a back injury. He was going to retire after this year any way but its a shame he couldnt end his career on his terms.

One of the more underrated forwards of the last couple decades. He didn't tally huge numbers, but always controlled the game when he was on the ice and was always one of the smartest and hardest working guys on the ice. Was one of the best passers in the game. Was a bit undersized, but was a master at countering larger bodies with perfect techniques and intelligence. One of the best in the league at shielding the puck with his body. Was a very good captain.

I look forward to #40 hanging from the Pizzarena rafters soon.

Hate to get into the argument about being underrated, not sure he was since everyone in hockey would want him on their team.

If looking outside of hockey as a professional athlete, then yes, but as stated earlier if your name isn't Crosby or Ovechkin the whole league is underrated.
