I'm a homer but your perspective on the Broncos is nothing more than an opinion. I believe as the season wears on, you'll feel better after seeing that Denver is not nearly as bad as advertised. Similarly, I would say that Seattle is the same. Sloppy first game for both teams, with home field advantage making the final decision. Just my two cents.
your defense is decent, but that offense was putrid. Horrible. Just bad. Keenum is not the answer.

Another plus was the play of Calitro… After replacing R.Griffith, he did a very good job... Griffith was horrible... Looked absolutely lost out there and couldn't wrap up tackles either... I am rooting for the guy but missing a hand may be an issue at this level after all...

I feel like this was, bar none, wilson's WORST 3TD game of his career. Gave up too many sacks, made too many bad throws.

that said, why didnt we run more? and boy did penny look pedestrian.

I still can't believe they reversed the D. Thomas incompletion... They had it right the first time... Denver would've had to end up with a FG attempt... Huge impact on the game...

It's the first game, but I get it. I suffered through last year's Siemian/Lynch/Osweiller season, so I'm probably a little quicker to call mediocre a good thing. Look, Keenun threw 3 picks. That sucks. He also threw 3 TD's and the Broncos haven't seen that for a long time. More importantly, the rookies all showed up. You can call the offense putrid but I don't think they'll be viewed that way when the season ends. Sorry to post so much about a non-Seattle team on your web page.

Chicago won't be any easier. Seattle really beat themselves today with a swiss cheese defense and poor offensive play by One side of the line and Wilson, Oh and the missed FG.
And the push off by Marshall in the endzone.

I'll give Penny a pass today. Could have been rookie nerves. Next week needs to be a different story.

That was one of those games where no matter what happened I just knew they weren't going to be able to pull it out.

Couple big blown plays on D really hurt and the complete lack of a pass rush was pretty god damn infuriating to watch. A better QB would have scored 40+ for Denver in that one.

Any time the O-line had decent protection it seemed like nobody was open or Russ held the ball too long. Then obviously Ifedi got abused and needed help the entire time.

Getting KJ, Fluker, and Doug (maybe, haven't checked the status on his injury) back with a more game-ready ET is going to help, and despite all the issues today they STILL had every opportunity to win. Could have been worse and I expect them to win the next two games.

Agreed, Carson was great today. He didn't get nearly enough touches, and Penny got too many. I'm not saying that Penny sucks or that he should be given up on or anything like that, but in a situation like today you gotta ride the hot hand and Carson was it.

I always appreciate the other side's perspective. Congrats on the win and good luck the rest of the season!

We need to figure out our identity in the running game, who's the #1 guy and go forward with that #1 guy ... It's hard for a running back to get into a flow when he's constantly being taken out ... I"m ok with a 1-2 punch, but the 1 should get way more touches...

I haven't seen Seattle's run defense abused like they were... I don't think, in the Carroll regime?

Run defense looked TERRIBLE. Wright will help granted, but Bennett was SORELY missed on that front, today. Two no name rushers getting 70+ yards and 4.5+ averages on 15+ carries? Ugly... if we don't fix the run D we're in for a LONG season given our pass rush sucks as well, lol. Offenses will have their way with us big time.

Denver is tough this time of year though. It's hot and the altitude doesn't help. Chicago is pretty nice this week (low 70s) so the weather/humidity shouldn't be a factor here.

Hawks were terrible as expected. I told everyone they'll be lucky to win 6-7 games at best this year and it looks like I gave them way too much credit. Also told everyone that Penny was an epic bust of a draft pick and he was downright pathetic today. Outgained by nearly 200 yards, the Broncos should've won by 17+ minimum if not for Keenum who was flat out horrific.

That said, I'm extremely happy about the result because it's one loss closer to Carroll's and Schneider's eventual firings. The sooner they're fired, the happier I'll be. And hopefully Wilson goes with them.

Can we get a mod to ban this guy from the Seahawks forum? Clearly a troll.

Anyway, a disappointing loss to be sure but hardly the end of the world.

We had 3 rookies starting on defense. We had 2 rookies starting or splitting a start on offense.

IMO, the pass rush and defensive line play in general improved as the game went on. Clearly there is more room for improvement but I also don't think it is something that we need to panic about yet.

Penny struggled which was unfortunate. Then again, aside from Carson's big 24 yard run play, he was only average. Penny did reasonably well catches balls out of the backfield.

Wilson was inconsistent which seems to be the case to start every year for whatever reason. The Broncos did a good job of having someone waiting on the backside for when Wilson tried to spin out of the pocket. He probably needed to get out of the pocket a little earlier but, IMO, Scotty is trying to keep him in the pocket more. We'll see how that goes.

Will Dissly looked GREAT. Caught just about everything thrown to him.

Michael Dickson looked simply amazing. You hear talk of punters being called weapons and it is rarely true but wow did he have some great punts yesterday. A 59 yard AVERAGE punt on 6 punts, 4 of them inside of the 20? His 5th punt was a thing of beauty. 57 yards and out of bounds at the 13. I'll take that EVERY DAY!

Not sure what we can do about RT. We may need to make a trade for someone. Ifedi is simply incapable of holding the line.

I am still excited to watch this team but I also accept that the first few games will likely be the toughest stretch for us especially 3 of the first 4 being on the road.

I'm seeing it mostly like Flyer. The game went about as I expected -- a 3 point loss with both teams in the 20s.

I'm not discouraged just yet. Last year the Denver run D allowed the fewest ypc I believe, and they have some pass rushers (most prominently Von Miller, of course) that were just too much for the right side of our line on too many occasions. We had a lead into the 4th quarter and had a chance to win it in the last few minutes, and that was despite all the sacks given up, poor 3rd down play on both sides, difficulty all game running or getting the ball to WRs, and 2 crucial calls that both should have gone our way but didn't: the non-fumble that Pete tried to challenge but wasn't able to, and the bogus TD where it looked to me both the right foot came up before control AND left foot touching OB that was originally called incomplete then reversed on the field and held up under review somehow.

I think Russell trusted his protection a little too much at times, especially on those spin moves back to the right side when Miller was always waiting for him after blowing right by Ifedi. And maybe he missed a couple throws, but overall I think Russell did about as much as he could to make plays despite being under siege most of the day.

Lots of young players. Earl just getting back. Penny just returning from injury. KJ hopefully back soon. I think things will get better in Oct.
