That ship has sailed

Can only hope for a Boston plane crash at this point, otherwise the hated rival will destroy us in the ALDS

@DirtDirtDirt 2 run shot by your boy Hicks

Hey that's the job we need him to do. He has no chance against major league pitching but the next 25 are mostly against pitchers that don't belong in the bigs, so this is where he needs to help

I'm not waving the white flag just yet due to this soft schedule we have up until labor day.

If we can get it down to 4.5 entering September, we have a chance.

Red Sox schedule in September is actually pretty tough. 6 vs the Yankees, 3 in Atlanta, 3 in Cleveland, and 3 vs Houston.

It is a long shot but if we can get it under 5 by the end of the month, there is a chance

Is September 18th some kind of holiday that I don't know about? Why in the world would they have the Yankees/Sox playing at 105 on a Tuesday?

I think it was the Angels who blew an 11 game mid August lead in '95.

So yeah, there's a chance, but it's slim and (almost) none.

Thought it must be a getaway day for somebody, but it's the first game of the series.

Not Jewish-is it Roshashana or Yom Kippur

Yeah I just did a quick google search. Yom Kippur starts in the evening on September 18th so now it makes sense why it is a 1 PM start

It would make more sense for a Met game.....Their fan base wears a hat without a brim.....

September 18 is Yom Kippur, still seems like a weird reason to have a Tuesday afternoon game.

On a bright spot the Bad News Bears came through in the end and won. The way this team has been playing the field is similar of the Bad News Bears

Only showalter intentionally walks the bases loaded with:
2 freaking outs
a slow runner
a super tight umpire not calling close strikes
a wild pitcher on the mound

I am so tired of Saint Buck

The dude is the most over-rated manager in history

This is the same dude that walked Barry Bonds with the bases loaded.
