some possible chips...(it usually takes 2 to 4 prospects to = a MLB player...more or less)

what is .more.. is that we don't even know if it is possible...and only speculation that..a PLAYER TO BE NAMED LATER
could be used as a vehicle.for a DH/2b

filia could be bait of course, or as well..sense he was already returned from boston...and the fact that boston, wanted and would take him in a trade pretty much sets his value

vogelbach will be in his last year next year....after that.. he will have to be kept on the 25 man roster or DFAed
that is how long the mariners have for him to break out..to a new lvl..so talking trade for vogey is not out of the question

ONLY in an attempt to stream line.. the minors pitching for next year..these guys could be avalable..cuz really
they could use ...ALL

randy bell at clinton..he is up ..he is down ..he is a good pitcher if he was not i could not list him here

and Reggie mcClain..stalling at modesto

orlando razo..5-11 L/L is one of the best pitches at everett and would be at clinton next year.but i need a trade chip
and he is it

if the mariners just DONT trade it would be ok

a few more possibles on the list

darrin gillies could also be added to that list for... a team that needed bull pen guys at there AAA

if you are talking san diego..then bergman may be a possible..cuz they could use a RHP

andrew romine..the only way he would be traded is in a trade like solarte

the mariners are in a.." trade bottle neck" caught between upper and lower..needs...from a certain point of view

main objectives=win
#1 raise the bottom line in hitting
#2 lower the team era..so #1 will be more effective
#3 keep the team younger rather than older..for the most part..also causes lower payrole
and certain amount of control of player over time

time in MLB is 4-6 years ....or trade deadline or off season..or contract

MLB: The top 10 potential starting pitcher rentals ranked

although Cole Hamels and Tyson Ross look the best to me on this list..and tyson ross more cuz his contract ends . after the year and is only 1.75mil..and a possible to trade for..a R/R young OF at the same time(renfro or franmil reyes at AAA
both HR hitting RF guys)....with a certain amount of player control

while cole hamels 22.5 mil ..or the rest of what is left of 2018 then 2019 =20.mil club option (or 24 mil vesting option ) does not look as good

interesting to note that eovaldi's contract is 2 mil a year..which put's him and tyson ross on "MY" list
and TB is a place where vogey would fit

nathan eovaldi..2018: $2 million, 2019: Free Agent

like hamels.....Happ .....would be more ..EEEX..pen----cive..!!

while if you look at tampa's mlb starting rot..it only has three guy's that is verry misleading

cuz they have
#1 archer
#2 snell......L/L
#3 faria .R/r who should be back after the all star break
#4 yarbough L/L
could be like montgomery and come on late but they could use one more..L/L...(yar).out of pin for now
#5 andriese can,will,and does start

#6 weber who was at mariners AAA last year is even better this year at AAA with a 2.23 era
#7 and andrew moore ..while not having a good year ..is good we all know with a 4.24 era

#8.. eovaldi

#9 that does not count honywell who will be back next year prob
#10 and they have Genesis cabrera L/L at AA who could be at AAA or mlb by next year

unfortunately for the mariners the rays could use a R/R HR hitting RF( renfro and reyes)..and they have what SD seeks in pitching..and they prob will only sell one
they already have there future middle infielder in willy adames and future LF in brandon lowe

they have ji man choi at AAA..not all that good and at AA nathanieal lowe 1B L/R
so could they use voggy...yeah..and for eovaldi would be a good deal if voggey had a good year the next one
or one of the other guys had an injury

#11 i missed one of there LHP..at AAA anthony banda..and a good one

so voggey could be a missing piece for them

Actions (not just phone calls etc) speak louder than words Jerry:L

You're aware Dipoto is one of the most active GMs in the game, yes?

He was asked a question and gave an answer.

yeah but ..before i would consider it...i would first want to ask the Question of ..why he has been struggling the last two years...and get an answer ..that i am comforteable with....so the mariners pitching coach may be able to fix it

just for some info

Per Major League Baseball's collective bargaining agreement, players must meet certain criteria in order to be eligible for postseason play.

Players must be on the 40-man roster, the 60-day disabled list or the bereavement/family medical emergency list as of midnight ET on Aug. 31 to be eligible for their respective clubs' postseason rosters. Consequently, players that are acquired via September trades or signed as free agents in September are ineligible for postseason play.

Clubs can petition the Commissioner's Office to add any player that was not on the 40-man roster as of Aug. 31 -- provided the player was in the organization on Aug. 31 and is replacing a player who has spent at least 60 days on the 60-day disabled list. The Royals were able to use this tactic to add Brandon Finnegan to their roster during the 2014 postseason, despite the fact that Finnegan was not on the 40-man roster as of Aug. 31.

Additionally, all players who have served part of a suspension for performance-enhancing drugs in a given season are ineligible for postseason play that year.

That would be idiotic to trade for him IMO. Just as when he was DFA'd, I think he is just like Felix except a piss poor attitude and from they (could be completely untrue) a bad teammate.

I don't think we can criticize Jerry yet for not making a deal, it takes two to tango and doesn't seem many teams are willing. I mean the Machado deal should've been done almost two months ago but they waited....plus Jerry already made a trade that had it happened at the deadline it would've been labeled close to a blockbuster deal.
