Norvell from Memphis.

Unless Aranda would be willing to come. But having a decent defense with a less than productive offense won’t take ya far in the B12.
Yep, I don't have a problem with Dana the offensive coordinator or offensive mind but he needs to scrap the 3-3-5 for a more conventional defense for recruiting purposes and hire a coach that knows special teams imo.

I wont be surprised at all if Saban had a hand in the hire (obviously not gonna be him).

Our AD came from Alabama's program and we already have a position coach that Saban recommended.

I could see Saban telling Lyons who to hire.

This I agree with. That 3-3-5 hurts our secondary more than helps. Absolutely no rush and let teams like Utah run for career days. SMH

2018 West Virginia goes 6-6

2011 Lost at Syracuse, lost a Louisville
2012 Lost at texas Tech, lost at Oklahoma State, Beat Texas
2013 lost at Oklahoma, at maryland, at baylor, at K State, at kansas
2014 A good year on the road. Went 4-3 on the road, but went 3-3 at home
2015 lost at Oklahoma, at baylor, at TCU, at K State
2016 Their best year on the road, only lost to OK State
2017 Lost at TCU, at Oklahoma

West Virginia Season Openers
2011 Marshall WIN Morgantown
2012 Marshall WIN Morgantown
2013 William & Mary WIN Morgantown
2014 Alabama LOSS in Atlanta
2015 Georgia Southern WIN Morgantown
2016 Missouri WIN Morgantown
2017 Virginia Tech LOSS in Maryland
2018 Tennessee in North Carolina

Notice a pattern with season openers? Win at Home, lose when not at home against teams with a pulse.

West Virginia is not good on the road against teams that are middle of the pack and better. Add in a good coach for the other team, and West Virginia will not win.

If Grier goes down with an injury again, the season spirals into the toilet.

L Tennessee = Neutral Site game, Tennessee has the talent. Pruitt looks like a good hire. I think Tennessee wins.

W Youngstown State = Beat Youngstown State by 17 in 2016

L @ N.C. State = NC State defense is highly suspect. But, NC State is a team with a pulse, has the QB returning, and West Virginia is playing on the road. Shootout

L Kansas State = In Morgantown. The Wizard has the players behind him, probably his last season, K State wins

W @ Texas Tech = Tech has to get rid of their coach. But they aren't. The Money at Tech cannot admit they screwed up

W Kansas = It is Kansas. In Morgantown.

W @ Iowa State = Clones had a magic season, won't repeat.

W Baylor = Baylor went 1-11, but beat Kansas for 9th place in the Big 12.

L @ Texas = On the road, with a smart coach, good recruiting means the talent is there.

L TCU = Patterson is a great coach.

W @Oklahoma State = On the road, Oklahoma State has a pulse. but did lose their QB and defense. All sorts of new defense. Oklahoma State struggles in 2018. If grier is healthy still, West Virginia wins.

L Oklahoma = The Big 12 belongs to Oklahoma. Has West Virginia beat Oklahoma in the Big 12? nope, and the beatings are getting worse each year.

2018 West Virginia goes 6-6 with three home losses to K State, TCU, and Oklahoma.

Tennessee had great talent and terrible coaching last year.
Well they ended up with their 27th choice for head coach so it’s safe to bet that there’s going to be bad coaching again.

The odds makers favor WV over the Vols by 7. Not surprising, since, last season, Tennessee lost 8 games for the first time in history. Also, UT is in transition, with a new coaching staff. It would be a tremendous start to the season of the Vols were to upset West Virginia.

UT's troubles go all the way to the State House. The political power struggle for control of the BOD is amplified by the Haslam brothers' ambition to make UT their own.

UT's administration has been in turmoil. Athletics has been in turmoil since the regrettable decision to promote Hamilton to AD and the retirement of Joan Cronan. When it's a cocked hat at the top, you can bet athletic programs will be affected. Who knows when the detrimental shizzle will end.

Though he wasn't my choice for AD, hopefully, Fulmer will anchor athletics and allow the programs to flourish as they should. GBO.

And even with all that, you win the game.

Meh I dunno about this statement for 2018. The QB2 you saw last year was a walk on type from Jersey who has now transferred. The backup this year is a transfer from Miami and had to sit out last season and everyone thats seen him says he would have unquestionably have been QB2 last year and has looked ok to date. Tall kid, lil skinny but supposed to be able to make the throws that last years QB2 couldnt so...

Am I willing to GUARANTEE that the season doesnt tank with him running the show? Well, no, but Im not willing to guarantee that it does either.
