thats not how it works.
1. an opening that falls on the same weekend.
2. can also agree to a later date for the return
3. is willing to play a P5 team
4. is willing to play a possible second P5 team if they already had one.
5. would be willing to play Oregon who was in the middle of a 13-2 season when the series was canceled. was coming off 6 consecutive seasons of 10 wins or more.
6. if into the off season Oregon was coming off CFP runner up.
but no yeah an open date is all that matters.
There are alot of other options than just doing a home and home. Those neutral site games aren't announced that early on ahead of time, and you can always try and get a lower level P5 team to come to Oregon for a buy game.
