Oregon Is Faster
Looks like the Windstar without a roof in the back.
I was excited to see this, I have been locked in to getting a Tacoma, but this seems like it could be competitive with that one. Not offering a 6 cylinder is a bizarre choice, but the 2.3 eb is what I would want anyway so this feels right up my alley.
Why Tacoma? I mean...if you're open to get any mid-sizer, the Canyon as of right now is the best bet. Yeah the Taco has the marketplace and cache but that's more because pretty much everyone left the segment - kudos to Toyo for sticking it out I guess. Personally, I'd get the Tacoma because I refuse to buy GM.
I 'like' what I see from this Ranger, but I think Ford is only dipping their toes in the water to see the responses to this truck. It just isn't the same ole $9000 Ranger that most people remember, and it looks like they are purposely limiting this vehicle because they don't want to overlap the F150 nor are they fully committed to the segment.
Tacoma's are popular here in Alaska but the one thing that rankles me about Toyota is they refuse to get onboard with Apple Carplay / Android Auto.I honestly liked the Ridgleine the most, but it was more than I wanted to spend.
I looked at the Canyon and Colorado, but the Tacoma looked the best to me, and seemed to be a better fit for my needs.

Ford doesn't offer a 6cyl. for it either.
I'm not big on the Raptors ... at least for my use. I don't do much off roading. I was hoping for more of a utility truck in the new Ranger ... but it's another urbanite vehicle.Until the Ranger Raptor is released anyway.
I'm not into the F-150 Raptor, way to big and I don't desert race.I'm not big on the Raptors ... at least for my use. I don't do much off roading. I was hoping for more of a utility truck in the new Ranger ... but it's another urbanite vehicle.
Raptors are cool and all, but there is zero need to own. They put you in the same insurance bracket as a high-performance sports car, have crap for low end torque and get worse gas mileage than a Hummer
Somewhat odd....the Ridgeline is the most highway-purpose midsizer whereas at this point, the Taco is most off-road worthy in the same segment. No matter what...good luck in your purchase.
Yeah, I know they are opposite ends, but during test drives I liked the feel of the Tacoma a lot.
Was it a six cylinder?

Two brothers in laws had the 2.3L and both motors blew up under 50,000mi. It didn't surprise me none as I had a 79 Mustang that did the same at just over 40,000mi and Ford said it was a disposable engine. I never bought another Ford product after that.
