These Nets don't quit.

Once down 24, just forced OT in Washington

No harm done. Let's see if they have enough left for Cleveland

Seems like Magic finally got the memo @Mecca

Was listening to a sportstalk show on my way home today and they were saying that Magic waited a couple of days so it wouldn't look like a direct response to Lavar and because immediate "votes of confidence" are often seen as a death sentence.

They were saying that all of this speculation was basically Windhorst listening to league gossip and did not come from the Lakers. Apparently, NBA GM's gossip like old ladies. They said firing Luke isn't on the table.

Both Jeanie Buss and Magic Johnson came out in support of Luke today, but I the first response I saw stated that the Lakers wanted to pay as little attention as possible to it - When that last dude fabricated the story about Fizdale, however, the had to speak up - I can see why I would want to remain silent and not be forced to say if Luke's job is or isn't on the line - They wanted to keep quiet in case they have to dump Walton in order to get LeBron - now they are backed into a corner and will be called liars if they decide to go after Fizdale.

I can't help wonder if the Lakers last 4 game winning streak instead of losing 4 more games helped make the case for keeping Luke another season though

He was never on the hot seat :L
No one is ever invincible in this business - but I do think his job is safe for now. The point, however is that the Lakers would have preferred to have not responded to Lavars comments in case they decided a change was needed. Now they would be in the position of explaining why they said they supported Walton when they didn't - Just saying - Anything is always possible now matter how ridiculous it looks

That's why the "he said/she said" game with Lavar is a game they can't win.

If they respond to his idiocy, they're playing right into his hands and giving him what he wants.

If they don't respond, then there are those who will read things into it.

But at least by not responding, there isn't anything that can be attributed directly to the team and they give Lavar nothing to respond to. Hopefully, he'll eventually get bored with them not responding and concentrate on running Melo and Gelo's Lithuanian team.
