What we learned today is you should not discount constant struggles vs bad teams when debating team strength solely based on one great performance vs a very good team. The Canes are still a very good team and could easily still make the playoff but their body of work performance wise is not, nor was it ever, as impressive as Bama or Wisconsin even if you consider their resume to have been

If they beat Clemson they'll be in . Only exception I could see is if Bama loses tomorrow . Then it could be SEC champ , OU, Wisconsin and Bama but otherwise they're in with a win over Clemson

Your "decent teams" that UCF has played have a combined record of 45-51. Thats not counting Austin Peay...

Wisconsins is 59-63 in a far tougher conference. Didnt even bother looking at bamas.


UCF is a good team. Fact is theyd have a minimum of 3 losses in any P5.

UCF's win over Memphis is more impressive than any of Wisconsin's wins up to this point. The AAC is a good conference this year. 3 decent teams this year. At one point, the AAC had 3 ranked teams, the same at the ACC and Pac-12. Obviously the B1G is a better conference, but Wisconsin didn't play the better teams. If you take Michigan, Northwestern and Iowa out of the picture, the rest of Wisconsin's schedule had 37 wins. 37 wins amongst 8 teams. That's an average of less than 5 wins per team. UCF has played 4 bowl eligible teams, Wisconsin has played 5, which includes Utah State and FAU.

If UCF had Wisconsin's schedule, they'd probably be 9-3 this year. IDK if that says more about how good the UCF team is this year or how horrible and laughable Wisconsin's schedule was this year.

I'm a UCF guy and I don't even think they belong in the playoff. They will need LOTS of help to even be considered. Not being a Power 5 team is hurting them the same way it hurt Western Michigan last year.
