As a Hawk fan I was thinking of Aaron Curry. What a bust he turned out to be. On a side note, I have a barely worn Curry jersey for sale, cheap.

Forgot about Curry.

I remember how everyone (myself included) thought of him as such a safe pick. Guy was extremely athletic but just somehow managed to over-run every single play and would get torched in coverage.

I would guess the worst players rarely saw action.

Using that criteria Rae Carruth should easily be in the top 3. I can't believe that POS is expected to be a free man at the end of next year.

This list would be much better served with the title being something like "players with the greatest hype that completely busted." Many of these guys at least saw the field. There are guys that are on an NFL roster right now that won't even make it out of week 1 of training camp. I would put say they were probably worse than a 1st round bust.

One that comes to mind for the Broncos though is Marice Clarett. He was hyped at one point in college as the next great RB to come out of THE Ohio State. Decided college football wasn't big enough for him and thought he should get an exception to go to the NFL. Well he didn't even make it out of training camp before getting cut and then ended up in prison for a while.

Yep - should be labeled as Biggest Busts of All Time. The worst players would likely be guys who you would not even recognize. BTW - no Tim Couch or Ki-Jana Carter on this list? Also - if you want to list players who were paid insanely by one team yet contributed next-to-nothing than Albert Haynesworth has to be near the top of that list.

Yeah, poorly named list. If the point is to list the biggest disappointments, perhaps this is a good list. But I have seen some bad starting players as an Eagles fan. QBs Jeff Kemp and Brad Goebel come to mind.

What about bad HCs, they have been instrumental to get the worst out of so-so players.

I remember the 30 for 30 on him and a part of it was saying he wasn't a bust at all on the field. His body broke down and people remember him getting trucked by Bo but he actually was good.

Really horrible story about Trent Richardson and how his family and friends basically raped him for all his money

Charles Rodgers was not a bad NFL player.


His collar had bad bones. That and he's a lazy pothead who really coulda used leaving the state of Michigan. You can take the boy out of Saginaw, but you can't take Saginaw out of the boy.
