Anyone hear any trade deadline rumors, post them here! Especially if it's Tigers-related, haha
I was hoping when they pulled JD last night that it was because he was dealt...guess not though. You don't think Yankees are a good fit for Alonso?A lot of teams after JD Martinez, most of the NL West actually
But being a rental, there is some speculation that the package may not meet the Tigers demands
Yankees and A's are apparently getting close on a Yonder Alonso deal, I dont know why

Id like to give this kid they got from the Brewers a real look (3-4 last night, was amazing in AAA this season)
And I just dont think the Yankees are that close to mortgage future pieces for a guy like that, who I think is a FA
yeah, Cooper was raking in AAA but there is a logjam at 1st for the Brewers so unfortunately, he was expendable
certainly performing much better that Webb at this point
Hadn't noticed. Webb getting lit up?

The Cubs are looking for a backup for Willson Contreras and Avila certainly looks like a good fit. The veteran backstop is making only $2 million this season and has put up a .292/.420/.518 batting line with 11 homers over 68 games.
lolRob Bradford of WEEI.com reports that the Red Sox are among the clubs showing interest in Addison Reed.
Reed is drawing interest from a bevy of teams, which is no surprise. The Mets reliever has posted a 2.47 ERA and 45/5 K/BB ratio over 43 2/3 innings this season and is an impending free agent. The Red Sox would obviously want him in a setup role ahead of Craig Kimbrel.
The A's are scouting Yankees Single A affiliate Charleston, where #3 prospect Blake Rutherford and #15 Estevan Florial are playing.
If Oakland wanted to do Sonny Gray and Yonder Alonso for #4 Jorge Mateo, Rutherford, and Florial I would consider it.
Agreed, Rutherford is a borderline untouchable, but with both Alonso and Gray, would be a tough pass
Alonso being a FA adds a twist
