SEC expanding will be to gain entry to new markets. Their best shots are obviously the Texas market and then going up the east coast to DC. (Explains why they would be talking to VT)

FSU, Miami,Clemson and GT will never be in the SEC. That's because Florida, South Carolina, and Georgia will never allow it. It would hurt their recruiting, and it would do nothing to expand the TV market.

I don't see why bigger conferences are the only way to a playoff. We already have 6 team BCS system. Just take the top 12, whoever they are, give the top 4 a by week.

Do you think that Florida fans only live in Gainesville?

:nonod:

Definitely not. There are an ass of us here in Charleston.

I've also only ever met two Miami fans (one moved to Texas) and one doosh FSU fan.

The Miami TV market doesn't mean anything in the this scenario because nobody in Miami gives a shit about the Canes. Have you seen their stadium on a Saturday? Vandy can get more people to the stadium than Miami can. Miami is not a good fit and bring nothing to the table. The only viable ACC teams that I can see joining the SEC are one of the North Carolina teams or Virginia Tech.

lol, it is almost a requirement to be a U fan if you are an hispanic in fla, and we have a few of those. also the U carries one of the top tv ratings. we were talking tv, right? and the truth is the U is in the top 50 for attendance, not bad cosidering their enrollment is about 1/5 that of "accept everybody" UF or FSU

That brings up an interesting question: what is the enrollment at UM cane_man? I know the enrollment of the other Hurricane school, Tulsa, is only about 3000 undergrads. It is the smallest school in the FBS division.

they only accepted 1500 undergrads/year when i went there. not sure what the attrition rate was. there are currently ~15,000 students includng grad students and ~9k undergrads

Miami rarely packs out a stadium, and it has been that way for a while now. I doubt it has anything to do with the new stadium, because they didn't even fill up the old one.

like i said in a another post, miami fans dont show up for a vt and its been like that since they started playing miami

miami might have more than 102 or 103 people in the stands for vt but will put 70,000 for fsu,ou,uf,and most other national title wiinners

vt is good but when miami puts 65,000 in the seats they still get complaints even though thats a sell out at vt

no need to get touchy, i was only fooling...but here are the numbers from 2010

capacity- 75,192
vs Florida A&M- 53,674
vs FSU- 75,115
vs UNC- 43,584
vs MD- 55, 434
vs VT- 40,101
vs South Florida- 41,148

VT: capacity 66,233
vs JMU - 66,233
vs ECU - 66,233
vs Central Mich - 66,233
vs Wake - 66,233
vs Duke - 66,233
vs GT - 66,233
vs UVA - 66,233

See rather than only coming out for rivalry games, or games against high profile teams, Hokie fans support their team through every game. Call me when Miami starts packing the house every game and shows they care about their team, not who their team is playing against.

i mean hell, in 2009 against Oklahoma, with the game played in miami in only drew out 61,790
