because he almost never has the time. Our pass protection has actually been decent today compared to other games.

Our dline has been really disappointing. We're only getting pressure blitzing Taylor and Tyler and we can't stop the run unless we have like 8 guys in the box. This is why we have the DBs running around on an island in man coverage and getting burned.

Good 1st quarter. Best one we've had all year. Offense looks good (minus Roberts drop) and defense has been ok. A lazy effort on that kick return hurt as did some bad offsides. Tighten that up and we might be ok. UNC is starting to get going downfield IMO. We're just a tick away on QB pressure. We've got to start getting more pressure so the secondary doesn't get exposed. They've played good so far (especially Exum). I just don't trust them to keep it up

38-26 UNC 3 mins left in the 3rd, defense is already tired. Offense has played well today (considering how bad we've been all season) but the only way we're getting a win is defensive pressure. Gonna have to suck it up and get a push. Renner's pockets are too clean and Benard is getting gapping holes. The defensive front has to get a better push. It's almost like Clemson last year. We're just getting pushed around and gashed on every play

It's over now. After turning the ball over on downs, UNC gets the ball on their own 40(ish). 2 plays they shred the defense with runs for a TD. No pressure, lots of whiffs.

First game all season where Thomas has looked ok and we leak water everywhere else.

44-26. Hokies getting their butts beat again. Defense is showing the same major flaws as seen in the past 2 seasons. Two years ago, it was lack of second level; if a guy get through, he was gone. And there are the gigantic holes on regular plays.

As painful as this is, I think it could be a good thing. The coaching staff can no longer talk about still winning the ACC or making other tweaks while turning a blind eye to the issues of bad line play on both sides of the ball. Maybe Frank wakes up and makes some changes to the staff. Without NFL caliber talent in the backfield, the Hokies cannot run the ball.

Bernard with career high rush yds today. Hokie D is great at giving players record games all season long. This team sucks in all 3 phases-- offense cannot run and is inconsistent, special teams are generic, and the D is bad too with a crappy secondary and an inability to stop anybody when it matters.

Its by design, we haven't had a good defense line in a while so we have to blitz, pack the box, and put all our DBs on island to stand a chance on D.
