The LAKERS will get the #1 pick.

Come on now, does anyone think otherwise...and certainly they will not fall out of the top 5
That virtual ping-pong ball will be the cyber equivalent of the 1985 FROZEN ENVELOPE.

Add the #1 overall 2015 pick
Add Rajon Rondo or Jimmy Butler
Add Kevin Love
Add Kobe Bryant
Add 2014 Lottery Pick (Ryan Randle)

They already have a nice piece in Jordan Clarkson.

That is some serious potential game changing firepower coming to Los Angeles this season.
Makes them young, deep, versatile, and talented for years to come.

Add in Deandre Jordan telling Chris Paul to fuck off on his way to Dallas, suddenly LA is back to purple/gold.

Not sold on KCP?
Although he needs to be more consistent and still needs some development, I like KCP. However he is a 2. We had Tayshaun back and Butler at the 3. Both are getting a little long in the tooth. We really need a 3. I say give Monroe the bank a big contract and draft Johnson. If we can have a shot at Draymond I would change the plan some.

I will be so nervous for those first 5 minutes

Nervous for what? It's almost a guarantee they'll be 10th. It's so rare for a team 11 thru 15 to move up. If it happens and you lose out on the pick, you just have to laugh at the dumb luck. Lakers fans are suppose to be the nervous bunch. There's a reasonable chance they fall out of the 5 spot and lose the pick

As a Lakers fan, I'm not sure how we're supposed to act. Are we supposed to have a "lottery party" and invite friends over? Get drunk and hope for the best? Just sit quietly at home and watch? Not watch at all?

Very confusing this lottery thing.

Can't go wrong with alcohol. You can drink it to celebrate or drink it mask the infinite sadness.

You raise an interesting point in personnel. However, having the number 1-3 draft pick nets you a trade bargaining chip that allows you to bring in the pieces you need to get to the next level.
Yup, and that is why it is an "almost" hope they don't win. But this is a year that I won't really mind if they stay in their spot. Sure a 1-3 pick would help with trade leverage, but who knows what they could pick up for it and how far down they would go in picks. #8 figures to line up right with their needs for this class.

Of course, their needs depend on resigning Monroe also, and that is far from a sure thing.

Tomorrow is the draft lottery, So it's probably time for a thread for draft/free agency speculation, rumors, etc. Should be an interesting draft and interesting off-season in general.

Yay!

Thanks, TF12.

I think the........Wolves will get the #1 overall pick.

1. Wolves

2. Lakers.

3. Knicks

4. Philly

Hey, if the Wolves do get #1 overall, they would have All of the #1 picks for the last 3 drafts on the roster.

They could use it.

I don't think there's any doubt that the Clips offer him a max deal. Because of their cap situation, they really don't have a choice. It's offer him the max and hope he takes it or roll with Spencer Hawes as their center.

The question is whether Jordan will re-sign with them. Does he, for example, accept a max offer from the Lakers to walk across the hall and get away from CP3? Does he accept a max from maybe the Spurs (I thought I read where the Spurs have interest)?

Saw the Spurs thing too.

I think their wish list goes:

1. M. Gasol

2. Aldridge

3. Jordan

I think they will walk away with one of them.

But, I think it will be Aldridge with Jordan going to Dallas.

What do the Clips do if he does walk?

I have 20 years of experience.

I would post it. But, it would be Russ-esqe * 100,000 word minimum*

What do the Clips do if he does walk?

Regress.

They are in cap hell until the TV money kicks in.

Even if he walks, we won't have much money.

If he stays, Hard Cap.

That's why they might as well pay him if he is inclined to stay.

I don't have a good read on DeAndre.

He and Blake are best Friends.

But, that is not enough to make him stay.

* See Lebron/Wade Heat

I honestly think he will go too the Mavs.

I keep hearing Detroit wants WCS.

But, so do the celtics...allegedly.

Not a bad pick if Monroe walks.

I don't know if you saw my earlier post, but the rumor is that it's a personality conflict with CP3 that may be the reason he leaves. Seems like CP3 should be smart enough to know that, given the cap situation, his chances of winning a title drop to 0% if Jordan leaves.

How exactly will they get Butler?

He is restricted and the Bulls will surely match, right?

I don't think they will make the same mistake that the Thunder made with Harden.

I see the Lakers drafting Towns if they get #1 overall and signing Rondo and Love.

Or, signing Monroe if they fall out of the top 2, signing Rondo and drafting Mudiay/Russell.

I don't think they will sign 2 max bigs when Randle will be back. So, it will either Monroe or Love depending on where they draft.

If they miss on Love and Monroe, Tobia Harris?
Ps. I agree that there is no way they fall out of the top 5.

Living in Cali, I'm sure you know the knock on CP3 as a Teammate.

The guy is a Dick.

A different kinda prick than Rondo.

But, grown Men don't like to be belittled in public.

Paul goes on rants.

Sadly, what does that say about the Clipper bigs when the smallest guy on the Court owns them mentally?

He and Blake had blowouts too.
