I didn't say he didn't. just said Oregon and Nike are 2 different entities.
Oregon doesn't even have the biggest Nike contract. I don't even think they are in the top 5

So Phil has spent more on facilities for another program than Oregon? I mean many NFL teams don't have what he bought for your program. That stuff about Nike contracts is misleading.

Again, this is what duck fans bring up to distract from the hundreds of millions of dollars Knight has personally donated directly to duck sports. Yes, he has also donated over a half billion also to non sports. This of course allows the university to send more funds to sports, or whatever else they want, because those funds are not required for the things Knight opens his wallet for.

Nike as an entity isn't funding the ducks. Knight is and he is doing it with the money he made from Nike.

The money Knight made from Nike is still his money. If knight wants to hand over every penny he has thats his money to do so with and will have no impact on Nike.

If I go get a bunch of drugs and hookers with my money, those are my drugs and hookers not my employers.

In this case you are the one who created and built your business and brand from the ground up. You and that brand are deeply associated with each other. Knight IS Nike, and all that Nike is comes from Knight.

There are a handful of people in the country with that level of status, even long after they have left their company. Bill Gates is one.

People will interchange Knight and the empire he built. No way to separate the two.

Uncle Phil scaled back on the "deals" once the shipped Chipper off to the NFL!

Washington's football program could use some of that Bill Gates / Paul Allen money ... a cool billion would be nice.

No one questioned Knight's generosity toward his favorite state and his other Alma mater. He gave, or has pledged a lot more money to non sports at those schools than sports.

Still, he has bought and paid for sports programs to make them relevant like few others at any institution in this country. How many other programs have received a couple of hundred million from one donor? College sports is about recruiting. All of them. Being able to outspend your competition buys you more recruits. It's a fact.

Duck football and basketball have both gone way up to another level after that massive money spend. They didn't grow their program through sweat and tears. They bought and paid for it. They didn't pay their dues, they paid in dollars.
