Watching the second half of tonight's game it was obvious the big 10 officials know that the only hope for the conference is for tosu to go undefeated and will make any lame ass call to make sure that happens.

Tonight was a good game until the officiating made the difference.

Not saying the Gophers would have won, but the out come was definitely influenced by the guys in stripes.

I agree, there were several missed pass interference calls that could have benefitted OSU, but didn't end up hurting UMn because UMn made big plays on their next play for either first downs or TDs. But the last missed call, the targeting call, would have had the Gophers retaining possession with good field position. May have resulted in their scoring once more, but without some crazy miracle like a recovered onside kick or something.

There could come a day, not too far off, where the Western Division produces a winner capable of beating OSU and also competing for a Natl Title, as the trend the last 10 or so years is Iowa's, Wisconsin's and Minnesota's recruiting has improved for sure, and it's possible the same could be said about another team or two in the west? But I doubt it will happen this year, and until it happens and the team follows it up by also doing well in the playoff, your suspicious that the B1G officials will favor OSU could be right on?

Penalties were 5-48 and 5-50. Keep crying

It's not the penalties that were called, it was the ones that were not.

The Gopher WR that got grabbed by the arm and turned before the ball got there & the targeting non-call. It made a difference in the game. Not saying the Gophers would have won the game but it ruined what until then was a very entertaining game.

You act like it doesn’t happen in every game, I can’t tell how many games Ohio St has been giving the short side of the stick by the officials and still came out with the win.
Keep crying, there were two questionable calls, that happens in EVERY game. So I guess you just dont watch much college football, makes sense lol

Funny thing is Minny had a very experienced team, especially their QB and RB. The Buckeyes had 11 players out and they were starting so many freshman or guys that have never started in their career….and Minny is a very good team. Gotta give credit to this young team for pulling through even after that brutal first half

The PI calls last night were weird. They got a couple ticky tack ones early, one in Ohio State, one on Minnesota then let some bad ones go later. There were missed calls on both sides. There always is. Zach Harrison got pulled down from behind on a play that Morgan completed a pass to continue a drive.

I'd call bull on anyone blaming refs when the penalties were that close.

Honestly, the first 1-3 games are usually mot an indicator of the team for the year. It really about game four that you see the team that will be on the field for the rest of the year.

Even some of your fellow OSU fans disagreed with you on that one call you labeled as BS. It was marginal, but not bs. There are calls that are technically legit, but that could have gone either way, that one you labeled as BS, got called, simple as that.

Well would you look at that?

Turns out blaming the refs for a loss is still ghey.
No one is blaming the refs for a loss. Go on, look back, reread all the posts, find me ONE instance of someone saying that the refs affected who won the game.

Claiming that the refs called the same number of penalties on each team does not mean the game was called evenly. It IS possible for one team, especially a less experienced team, to commit more penalties and to hence deserve more of them.

There's no question Ohio State got away with multiple PI's last night. But it's not like the Buckeyes won on the last play of the game or something. And missed PI calls happen in every game played in every conference.

For all the Buckeye haters out there

No one is trying to take credit away from OSU. If the penalties that are being pointed out would have been called, the Buckeyes would have still won.

Wrong.

Anytime someone starts a thread about the refs after a loss...they're blaming the refs.

A statement like "not saying the Gophers would have won, but the out come was definitely influenced by the guys in stripes."...Is blaming the refs and is ghey.

You can try to pretend it isn't, but everyone knows the meaning.
