I mentioned basketball only because using your logic, Va Tech could easily have a better record than UVA in basketball this season. I was merely pointing out the significant flaw in your logic, as that "what-if" game can be applied either way.
Certainly, UVA won a few close games in football this year, but their losses against Virginia Tech and in their bowl game weren't among those. By the same standard, one "outside of the norm" replay reversal cost Va Tech the Sugar Bowl title.
The actual results are the ones that stand, and are therefore the only ones that are meaningful.
You do realize that the reason I said something about VT winning those close football games is because VTFF said the same thing about UVa, don't you?
