Honestly, i don't know. torts has said how he will want to give the young guys a chance, and cap-wise, we kind of need some production from people on ELCs.
Schroeder is ready for 3rd line duty. If he starts the season in Utica, I wold call his camp a pretty serious failure.

Jensen is a question mark in terms of NHL/AHL. Gaunce is probably the next closest to ready.
But Gaunce / Horvat / Shinkaruk all played pretty big roles for their junior teams, so I think unless they play someone out of a top 9 job on the big club, I would rather see them getting continuing an important role back in junior rather than getting sparse 4th line minutes. First 5-9 games to give them a taste, but don't burn a year to play them with grinders.

Yeah, Tortorella didn't have a good history with younger players on the Rangers. Hopefully that will change on the Canucks. I think the team needs to utilize their younger players when filling roster spots on the backlines.

I sure hope so, that playoff loss still haunts me. I'm hoping for another chance to get back at the Bruins. Can't wait to see what Bernier can do in net for us, but I do feel bad for Reimer.

Yeah, Reimer got a raw deal. Had some of the best numbers in the league in spite of playing behind a horrible defense and got rewarded by being demoted to a backup. He still has a chance to win back the starting role if Bernier stumbles tho. Could go with a platoon system in Toronto.

There are five NHL caliber centres ahead of Da Costa right now and Curtis Lazar projects to be another.

I think maybe Da Costa could end up a serviceable #2C but I don't think it will be with Ottawa.

Yeah, Lazar has potential, think he'll be ahead of Da Costa so early tho?

Pitiful. That's my projection is that the Sabres lineup will be pitiful. Not much need to go beyond that.

What's funny is this was said, almost word for word but with "Lightning" where Rangers is and "Rangers" where Canucks is a few years ago.

Tortorella is as likely to change as Keenan is.

Parise- Koivu - Coyle*
Heatley - Granlund - Pominville*
Zucker - Braodziak - Neiderreiter
Cooke - Konopka - Rupp

Suter - Brodin
Ballard - Spurgeon+
Scandella+ - Prosser

Backstrom
Harding

Where I disagree with bleacherreport.com:

* They have Pominville in the 1st line, Coyle in the 2nd. I don't think that this will happen unless/until Yeo is satisfied that Heatley is up to the task of 'carrying' two youngsters, if need be.

+ Scandella was sent down for most of last season & Spurgeon wasn't. I suspect that he will have first to prove that he even ready to play NHL level hockey before he gets a shot at bumping his way into the 2nd D line.

Heatley, Harding & all of the young guns are potential areas of concern. Realistically, I don't look for this season to be any better than the last.

Lot of changes on the roster from last season. They've still maintained the core tho. Hard for me to decide if the Bruins are better or worse than last season.

That's actually a pretty good lineup, could be really solid if Wilson, Kundratek, & Orlov can prove to be immediate impacts on the roster.

Hmm, lemme see if I could put something together here,

L1: Thomas Vanek - Cody Hodgson - Drew Stafford
L2: Tyler Ennis - Ville Leino - Patrick Kaleta
L3: Marcus Foligno - Steve Ott - Brian Flynn
L4: Kevin Porter - Mikhail Grigorenko - John Scott
Reserve: Zemgus Girgensons

D1: Christian Ehrhoff - Tyler Meyers
D2: Jamie McBain - Henrik Tallinder
D3: Mark Pysyk - Mike Weber
Reserve: Chad Ruhwedel

G1: Ryan Miller
G2: Jhonas Enroth

Not a bad teamon paper actually.

Yeah, I don't have much faith in him changing his ways either.

Not a bad lineup, would like to see if Dumba could make the team at some point.

Yup, the Flames lineup is definitely a project, there's no doubt about that.

Hmm, Flames are a tough one,

L1: Mike Cammalleri - Matt Stajan - David Jones
L2: Jiri Hudler - Michael Backlund - Lee Stempniak
L3: Curtis Glencross - Corban Knight - Ben Hanowski
L4: TJ Galiardi - Sean Monahan - Sven Bartschi
Reserve: Markus Grandlund

D1: Dennis Wideman - Mark Giordano
D2: TJ Brodie - Shane O'Brien
D3: Chris Butler - Kris Russell
Reserve: Derek Smith

G1: Joey MacDonald
G2: Karri Ramo

L1: Elias-Zajac-Ryder

L4: Carter-Gionta-Bernier

G1A: Corey Schneider

Assuming we get bouncback years from Zajac/Henrique/Volchenkov/Salvador I think this lineup (mainly our goaltending tandem) is good enough to tread water and stay competitive until the trade deadline. We have a ton of young guys on D that are on the verge of making the team so I either see some of them being dealt for help on the first 2 lines or I see some vets on D being traded for help down the road.

Yikes, well the good news is that the Flames should have a top 5 pick locked up for next year's entry draft.
