Mark Jackson just called LeBron the greatest SF that's every played the game.

I can live with that, although i will always disagree about Magic being more efficient. He couldn't shoot a lick most of his career and a majority of his shots were close to the hoop.

He wasn't an outside shooter, but that was his game and he didn't try to force it. I compare him to Kidd in that aspect, he didn't learn how to shoot till late in his career as well. He wasn't a good shooter, which makes it even more remarkable, especially if the compeition knew that as well.

Magic's career was also cut short. Both players played 13 years in the league. Additionally, because Magic was a PG and Bird was an SF, that meant fewer opportunities for Magic to score.

Their respective prime years were just as close statistically.

Sorry prime Bird was just better. 30/10/8/2/1 on 50-40-90 shooting. Even in his prime i dont think Magic could do that even if he played Sf and was tasked with scoring and rebounding more.

I dont think Bird even compares to Magic's overall career. But prime years Bird was better.

They were just as close statistically. Your argument boils down to "because I say so".

Larry Bird never averaged 30ppg in his career, not even once. The closest he ever came was 1987-88 when he averaged 29.9.

He also never averaged as many as 8 assists in any season. The closes he came was 1986-87 when he averaged 7.6.

Birds prime (I used the 6 seasons prior to the back issues)

26.7 ppg
9.9 rpg
6.6 apg

Magic over the same 6 years

19.2 ppg
7.1 rpg
12.2 apg

Like I said, just as close.

I wasn't saying those were his averages, i was saying he was approaching those numbers regularly for a 6 year period. I guess we differ because i think Bird's numbers are more impressive than Magics during that 6 year period.

Just a quick once over I think Magics look better. FG% and EFG% and PER is what does it.

In the Advanced section, Magic owns Bird in almost every category except rebounding. Also, the Per 36 is pretty interesting, Bird only averages 3 ppg more than Magic, but Magic's stats are pretty much identical to his usual stats. Can you say possibly garbage time for Bird??

Bird was a point forward. He scored and got his team involved, hence why he always led the team in assists just like Lebron. Magic couldn't shoot at all until late in his career, so you are wrong saying he could 30 a game with the same efficiency as Bird.

Bird was not a point forward. :laugh3: That term did not come into being until Pippen showed up.

Lol, even comparing career stats, they are basically dead even. Anyway, i was comparing their respective prime years, before Bird was a cripple and forced into early retirement because of back issues. Additionally Bird played SF which resulted in less assist oppurtunities.

If your job is too score then you have to have the ball in your hand. How does that equate to less opportunities for assists? :wtf2:

Larry shot the ball six times more than Magic. If Magic shot the same amount Larry did, with a career FG% of 52% Magic would be averaging over 25ppg, beating Larrys 24.3ppg

:lame:

It's always 'meaningless' when he's the most under performing SF in the game, right?
And the ASG is never meaningless to some Lakers fans when Kobe wins the MVP.

Kyrie better give Lebron part of that trophy. Lebron kept giving it up to him. He obviously knew Kyrie had a chance on getting the MVP.

22-7-7 for Lebron is indeed a under performing game on a team full of all stars. :laugh3:

This anointing of LeBron is very reactionary. He's still well behind Kobe. Hell, I may even take the Mailman or The Big Fundamental ahead of LeBron if I'm building my team.

Now THIS is a delusional statement. Kobe knows he is not in Lebron's galaxy. You should know to.

I'm sure we'll get a quote from Lebron pretty soon saying: "I would have won the MVP if I wanted to."
