Mark Jackson just called LeBron the greatest SF that's every played the game.

We can also post the roster Lebron was on for 7 seasons, earned 2 MVP's, and a Finals appearance and see what slapdicks he had to work with.

Than we can post the HOF roster Bird was on. Maybe that isn't fair though, right.

So you are saying that the MVP always comes from the team with the best record? Um, sure...
No......I'm saying that you clearly had no idea that team record plays a role to voters when voting for league MVP and now you're deflecting.

See, you learn something everyday. You're welcome for the lesson.

Lebron will probably pass him due to longevity. Larry Bird accomplished almost everything in his first 7 seasons. He came into the league late at 23 and the wear and tear from playing brutal teams like the 76ers and the bad boys made him a shell of himself after just 7 seasons. Lebron looks likes he will still play for a while. He'll probably end up with 5 or 6 rings and be the best SF of all time.

LBJ is the better player, if we are talking GOAT credentials it is pretty debatable so at this stage of LBJs career it is very safe to say LBJ should easily pass Bird...and we can add Magic to that too.

People dont realize how good Bird was. In his prime, he was way better then Magic. Only reason he isn't rated higher then Magic was his chronic back issues.

Prime Bird was probably the 2nd greatest player ever.

That being said, Lebron will pass Bird by the time his career is over if not already.

You are the only person, including Bird himself, who believes that.

You have a serious case of the Great White Hopes. Bird was a bad man but he was in no way better than Magic nor is he better than Lebron.

Bird was averaging around 30/10/8/2/1 on 50/40/90 shooting in his prime years. That's way better than Magic

Im black, but okay. I love Magic, top 5 player all time no doubt. But Bird's numbers were way better than Magic even outside their prime years.

Your point is not well taken. If I implied that EVERY pass was shown 3-4 times, then I was wrong. Only some of them were. But every one was shown at least twice as opposed to the Bird video, which was 2 min. longer, where each was shown once and in shorter bursts. Many, many more great passes by Bird than shown in the Lebron video. You had no basis for mocking the poster and probably have less basis for your claim that Lebron is a better passer than Bird was.

Life is tough sometimes like when my point is not well taken. You did not just imply. You actually wrote 3-4 times. I didnt post the video to say it was longer than the Bird video. I posted it to show Lebrons passing ability. Those were just some of his top ones. EVery game he makes a great pass. Bird was great but please lets not try to say he was better than Lebron is now. You need to justify that one for me to believe it. Showing a video with Birds best passes does not show how he was a better passer than Lebron when Lebron can play Birds position and PG with 0 drop off.

I thought Birds job as a SF was to score? Magics could have beat those numbers anytime he wanted but his job was to get his team mates scores.

Bird was a point forward. He scored and got his team involved, hence why he always led the team in assists just like Lebron. Magic couldn't shoot at all until late in his career, so you are wrong saying he could 30 a game with the same efficiency as Bird.

You sure about that?

Larry Bird career stats:

24.3 ppg
10.0 rpg
6.3 apg
.496 FG%
.886 FT%
1.7 steals per game
0.8 blocks per game

Magic Johnson career stats:

19.5 ppg
7.2 rpg
11.2 apg
.520 FG%
.848 FT%
1.9 steals per game
0.4 blocks per game

Additionally, Magic played point guard which results in fewer opportunities to score and fewer opportunities for rebounds.

Magic's .520 field goal percentage compared to Bird's .496 tells a different story.

Lol, even comparing career stats, they are basically dead even. Anyway, i was comparing their respective prime years, before Bird was a cripple and forced into early retirement because of back issues. Additionally Bird played SF which resulted in less assist oppurtunities.

When most of your shots are layups and shots close to the hoop that tends to happen. Bird is part of the 50-40-90 club. Something Magic could never do.

Bird had the advantage with rebounding and Magic had it with assists. Bird had a scoring advantage but HE was the main scorer, Magic wasn't.

Magic was also a more efficient shooter, which is actually very important.

It is like comparing apples to oranges. Both great players and top 5 players. They are equals in my book. I can't say one is better than the other.

I can live with that, although i will always disagree about Magic being more efficient. He couldn't shoot a lick most of his career and a majority of his shots were close to the hoop.

Magic's career was also cut short. Both players played 13 years in the league. Additionally, because Magic was a PG and Bird was an SF, that meant fewer opportunities for Magic to score.

Their respective prime years were just as close statistically.
